Knowing the properties of your ammo

Yes, it is negligent. Unless your neighbor was okay with possible damages prior to the shot. I have been negligent before in the shooting area, so forever guilty as charged. Yeah, it could have cost me injury and has caused damages. Was not fun telling Dad when I shot the back window out of his 1954 Bel-Air after missing a blackbird under 15 yards. That rear window appeared to go instantly white behind that exiting blackbird on the fence post. Didn't think I'd miss and oh that feeling hits ya in the gut. Yes, I also understand complacency, over confidence, and lax under routines. I've made many mistakes. I try to be mindful, hope to be corrected, and point out mis-steps committed by others.

Diana  Scope and mount for Diana Mod 48/52

so i looked up the scope at Ohhunt site the scope is worth 45 bucks
first off heavy recoiling air rifle and heavy scopes do not get along and this scope weighs over 22 ozs
now back to the scope
let's assume the scope is well made at the price of 45 bucks, the chances of it lasting long on a 52 could be very short
so, now you have heavy cheap scope on a hard hitting air rifle and top that off it fits so poorly you can load the pellet
now the fact is the 48-52-54 rifle need and droop mount and that is where i would start and that will take you to Weaver-picatinny rings
i would look for a scope that is much shorter something in the Leaper line up but that is up to you

it is just the wrong scope mounts and rings will not solve the problem a new scope would but do your homework not all scopes are rated for spring air rifle use
Thanks for the advice. I tried using the scope because I only paid $20 for it new. If it's anything like my CVLife scopes it should hold up. I've had them on my 22fpe .177 gas piston and another 18 FPe .177 for about two years now without issue. I was looking at the UTG DN460 mount. But it's too long so I'll mount it on my PCP and swap scopes.

FX  FX Maverick Compact .30 Cal - First shots review

Shot a little at 53y today, this is as far as I can shoot in my yard without moving some things around. With the tune I listed above, I was shooting inside my 1MOA circle targets.

I did try the Zan slugs. They did not do very well. I don't blame the slugs, I think they are better suited for higher fps and a longer barrel. I may try some pellets. I always had good luck with .22 JSB Hades.

Close out on Coltri

I just stocked up on compressor oil. Their shipping was high but if you order 6 pints it’s still half the price of other quality brand oils. I also got air filter for my Daystate compressor their price was less than that half that charged elsewhere

Oil was 7.50

Filter 9.95

Vortex 2-7 rimfire vs Airmax Vantage 2-7 AO??

I have used the 3x9x40 Airmax for about 3 years now. A Vantage 3x9x40 for about 4. Both are AO.

I've got a couple fixed 4x Vantage scopes that are just great. They cost a whopping $99 and have served me well.

The Airmax reticle is great but can be hard to see in shadows and low light. It's great for targets and plinking but it's not the best scope for hunting. The Vantage has a medium crosshair and is perfect for hunting. It's a little thick for target and precision shooting.

A Sightron S1 4x16x40 is a step up from the Airmax and just a few more dollars. It's a fine scope with a sensible reticle and good glass. I've been using one for about a year and I like it a lot.

I bought a Leupold 3x9 Rimfire scope with fixed parallax. It is simply not in the same class as the Hawke or the Sightron. I was really disappointed by it. IMHO there are much better scopes for half the price. The Hawke Vantage 3x9x40 AO is one of many.

I've never been a big fan of Vortex scopes. I have had a couple and I'm not thrilled. I have never used their rimfire scopes. They may be excellent.

Invicta FTC March 22nd match report

A chilly and windy day, that turned warm with blue skies, but STILL windy, had five shooters come out to play, and Matt was shooting his first WFTF class, still working out all his settings, but got a respectable score.

Bill and Mike both shot the high score, and as both had already made it back up the dreaded hill and didn’t want to go back down, I looked at the hardest target on the course to determine which won, both missed it once, so we reverted to a coin toss, and Bill won, either way, good shooting with the winds we were dealing with.

For some reason my rifle decided it was time for the regulator to stop working, and my pellets were hitting 3 inches low at 25 yards, maybe I need to try the practice range BEFORE the match? Velocity was 638 fps, so 7.6 ft lbs……. So, half way through I went and grabbed a spare airgun , but it wasn't actually properly zeroed, I went through the course trying to figure it out, but I did end up with ALMOST 50 percent, thats the best way I can put it, also I found out the previous day I had broken the tip of my elbow and so I now have a new FT excuse I have never used before, well I did crack some ribs about fifteen years ago, but not QUITE the same issue, as I couldn’t breath well with cracked ribs, now I cant hold the rifle up with a dodgy elbow….LOL.

Matt Judd runs a Silhouette match up in Columbia TN every year, and that starts up next month, on the third Saturday of the month, so this year that is the same weekend as Easter, I will be getting more information from Matt and will pass it onto everyone.

I hope to see more of you guys coming out this year, the more the merrier!!

God Bless
David Slade

Sacramento Valley Field Target ( SVFTC ) March 2025 Jim Cyran Memorial Match "RESULTS"

What a great tribute to a great guy and airgun fanatic.
I first met Jim Cyran a few years back when he posted on one of the airgun websites "help needed" in the Cleveland Ohio area. Jim was flying in to visit relatives and shoot in NOA's Burning River 120 Grand Prix (or Pyramyd Air GP Event, I don't remember which). He needed air and a place to check his rifle out after airline travel. I had the air and the place at a friends house. We met. We shot. We had a beer. We had fun.

Jim was a terrific shot and a great ambassador to our beloved airgun hobby.

Other  Some dandy’s on Airguns of AZ pre owned

I picked up this Daisy 753W on the AOA used sight. Just got it last night. NOS. Never used. Daisy discontinued this model a few years back. It fires 7 grain Basic lead pellets over 500 fps. Here are two 40 yard targets. (1-5 shot & 1-6 shot) RWS-R10. Trigger is atrocious. That will be next.View attachment 550362View attachment 550363
