Other  Some dandy’s on Airguns of AZ pre owned

I picked up this Daisy 753W on the AOA used sight. Just got it last night. NOS. Never used. Daisy discontinued this model a few years back. It fires 7 grain Basic lead pellets over 500 fps. Here are two 40 yard targets. (1-5 shot & 1-6 shot) RWS-R10. Trigger is atrocious. That will be next.View attachment 550362View attachment 550363
Great score and excellent shooting my friend!

Bench Rest Question for the Experts

I shoot with a couple competitors that use the SEB mini they are a nice rest for size and money
Those mini SEB’s,like all of his stuff, are like pieces of jewelry…they so pretty.
Christopher’s rests’ are about 400 cheaper than the mini, but I do expect him to get “hot” and raise his prices.

Crosman CPHP target damage question

FWIW, target damage/mortality is but one of MANY issues match directors have to deal with that most shooters never have to think about. As I consider the old Gamo field targets an excellent design, and easily serviced as well, but under-built in steel quality, I've rat-holed a collection of many extra face-plates. Unfortunately not so, replacement paddles.

My wish-list-

1) Obviously, replacement paddles.
2) Better yet, AR50 steel replacement paddles.
3) Also, AR50 steel face-plates.
4) Even better yet, field targets on the Gamo design, but built with AR50 paddles and face-plates.
5) Yet even betterer, #4 also with sear-engagement screws!

Given how many folks have built field targets themselves, often on their own design with varying degrees of success (and failure), I'd think someone could rip-off the Gamo design but produce targets with my wish-list items (relatively) easily enough. Especially if they forego creating a new design.

BTW, my post relates to 20 foot-pound targets; not extreme field targets.

@airngasman how many gamo paddles do you need? I’m going to place an order with Calvin at quality targets

Benjamin  What is the correct pressure gauge to fit the HUMA regulator (pre-2020 Marauder .25)

I have a 2016 Marauder .25 and planning to add the JSAR TSS, Huma regulator, and Huma quickfill set with gauge. I ordered thequickfill/gauge, and also the Huma regulator with the pressure gauge port. I was planning to simply re-use my stock gauge to view regulator pressure. However, after ordering I came across some info about pre-2020 Marauder gauges having tapered threads and 2020-current Marauders having straight threads.

Will my stock gauge with the tapered threads fit into the new Huma regulator gauge port? If not, are there proper fitting alternatives to the pressure gauge that Huma is selling? Obviously I don't want a leak, but I also want the gauge to sit flush with the stock (synthetic). I'm trying to avoid another order through Huma because the shipping cost is more than the cost of the gauge.

Taipan  Taipan Mutant Short .22

Yeah that's what I've heard and seen as well when I tore into mine to figure it out.

Anyways did roughly sight in and took out 4 pigeons and a few starlings today. Man did I miss having one of these Shortys! Such great guns. My brother in law was just telling me the other day how much he and my nephew still love the Vet Shorty they got from me. I'm glad they have that one but glad I got one again.

Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 rapid leak

On my most recent repair I followed your advice and learned the hammer spring adjuster can be adjusted out past flush with the back of the block and still fit in my carbon stock. Prior to that I thought having the adjuster plug flush with the back of the block (stock setting) was as far 'out' as it could go or it wouldn't fit in the stock.

Since you told me about having room to back the adjuster out further I have learned that I can go 3-1/4 turn back from flush with the block and still achieve full function/velocity of the rifle. At 4-turns backed out the valve fails to function and the rifle drops to 350fps. I'm running it now at 3-turns out from flush with the block.

I've put a couple hundred rounds through the rifle since backing-off the hammer spring and so far so good. The rifle will need to get to around 1000-shots before I know that the poppet o-ring isn't going to 'blow' again??? Prior, the o-ring would let-go between 500-800 shots.
Yep. I’ve been saying this since last July when I purchased my first U2. All three of my U2’s were around 3 turns over adjusted. Three turns in on any PCP’s hammer spring is significant. Three turns too much with a balance valve is almost criminal.

FT Match Report Arlington Sportsman’s Club 03/22/2025

Welcome to the ASC FT March Madness match report! It wasn’t a mad match, but it was full of attendees mad about the upcoming Republic of Texas GP and State Championship. This was a tune-up match for the ROT that is next month, so I think that is why we had 22 shooters in attendance. The course this month was a harder than usual with 58 shots over 15 lanes with two targets on each and two offhand lanes and one kneeling lane. Scott and I once again setup the course on Friday afternoon in the sunny but windy conditions, but he was unable to attend once again.

Match day dawned cool with a little wind, but the temps and the windspeeds rose as the day went on topping out at 82F and 15mph winds. The lower scores reflected the wind blowing through the trees that is often unseen. The Troyer was 34.4, SD 4.97, Avg Dist 31.6 yds, and Avg KZ 1.04”. The wind made the course more challenging than 34T for sure! We had a few new shooters that were forced to deal with the difficult course conditions, but they did so with smiles on their faces. There were a couple of uncommon target malfunctions that need addressing, but most everything ran smoothly.

Here are the results for March:
Scotty H won Hunter PCP and HOA with 51/58 shooting his RAW TM1000, followed by Brian S in 2nd with 46/58 shooting his FX Crown, and then Caleb D in 3rd with 45/58 shooting his Daystate Huntsman. Buddy W shot 31/58 in Unlimited with his Daystate Wolverine. Rick K was unchallenged in Hunter Piston again with 23/58 shooting his HW97K. I topped the WFTF class with 41/58 shooting my ’92 Air Arms NJR100 again. You can see the results below and also be sure to review the results at https://airgunshoot.com/ that shows the average score on each lane, your score on each lane, your hit percentage by lane or near/mid/far targets, how you compare to your class average, your class winner, and the HOA winner. Thanks to Scott Cotton for his continuing work on this.

Thanks to everyone for helping take down the course, it was very much appreciated, and thanks for coming out for what turned out to be our largest match of 2025 so far. See you next month on Friday – Sunday, March 25-27 for the Republic of Texas GP match.

See you at the next next match,
Jeff Cloud and Scott Cotton

Tank enclosure…

That'll give a good fill. A lot of divers are just in a hurry to get their tanks filled. Some people don't like having the tanks filled in water because they feel that water might get somehow get into the cylinder, but then they proceed to go underwater with them and somehow that's OK, but filling with most of the tank submerged isn't.
Hmmm... wonder how they feel about having them hydro tested?

Leishy 2, with 600mm barrel/ slugs out to 100yds?

Thanks for your insight guys. Overall looking specifically at 34-40gr (.22) slugs only, out of these Leishy’s.

Actually just saw a vdo from ShootingGearReviews where he shot 34gr’s slugs (.25) from Leishy w the 450mm barrel. Looks very promising.

Agreed @6gun, barrel length should address some level of efficiency and fps increase…usually beneficial with heavier loads
Fwiw im shooting 980 fps 34s from a 700mm fx and get at least 28 rounds on a fill 580cc 150 bar plenum . I just fill every mag. The power to drive a 34 is kind of a constant.

Other  Need help with new gun decision. Analysis Paralysis

I for one would stick to .177 for the purposes you’ve listed. I like simple set and forget rifles with little to no external adjustments, because of my chronic tinkering problem. If I was spending my money on what you were looking for. A used RAW HM1000 non X model in a chassis with a single shot tray and magazines. At the 20 ft/lbs FT limit that puts a 10.34 grain pellet over 900 fps. JSB has two great shooting pellets in that weight, the standard match 10.3 and the hades 10.3. That makes very little change in POI . The conversation about what scope to use is a whole other story.

RAW Rapid  Microhunter vs HM1000x Mini

I have the 20ftlb pistol that I added a buttstock to, same exact action as the TM-1000 (even says it on action) single shot no mag. 15” LW barrel “Land and groove” not poly and no thimble. Love this little thing two options in one gun! And very accurate as all RAWS!

Skout  Skout Epoch Slug Barrel 30 Cal

Not sure about behind….they have like 100 options don’t they. Like I said in another thread discombobulated mess maybe. I could be way off base but it’s just the look it has given me. There have been numerous Skout barrel threads since all these new barrel offerings. Not a thing wrong with their original liners. Should have kept them.

Huben Dream Valve 7075 On Notos Leaking - Design Flaw???

Hello,

Have the Dream valve and wondering if anyone else is having issues with the plenum end to air gun blowing o-rings? Mine has held great since I got it a couple months back. Went out today to squeeze off a few down range and the gun was empty. Put it on the compressor and the leak was louder than the compressor. Took it apart to find the blown o-ring. Replaced it with a new stock o-ring and put it back on the compressor. Got upto 1200 PSI and the o-ring between the plenum and block where it swivels was leaking. Took it apart again, did some digging and found an o-ring for that, pumped it up again and then the plenum to gun o-ring blew out again.

Great fun.

What I found is the bevel cut on the Dream Valve is a shallower cut that the original tube air chamber to retain the o-ring in. Went through my small collection of stock o-rings thinking they were defective. I finally pulled out the calipers and started measuring to find the bevel difference. The stock o-ring is to large for the bevel cut on the Dream Valve. It looks like the bevel cut on the Dream Valve is about 30% less of an angle than stock making the retainment area for the o-ring to small for the stock o-ring size. To get the Dream Valve to completely capture the o-ring and prevent another blow out, I stumbled onto roughly a 10 MM ID by 2.6 CS ish. The o-ring that worked ended up having a cross section of 17.5 ish mm(outside to outside) when on the threaded stud of the gun. Don't rememmber the exact size of the o-ring(sorry), cause I tried quite a few to get one that wouldn't leak or blow out.

Pumped things up for the last o-ring experiment and it is still holding air.

Hope this helps anyone else who is unlucky enough to have this problem. I saw some mention buried in a thread, but wasn't sure it was at the plenum to gun connection.

Garmin XERO C1 update 3.30

The option is for placing the unit down range and if it sees a shot it flashes making it easy for the shooter to see the shot was detected.
V3.30 had some missed shot problems which are cured with v3.32

I wasn’t able to find the 3.32 update but I tried the down range feature. This is shooting my FWB 800 at 25 yards. First with the Xero at 20 yards and then at the muzzle. It’s a great excuse to own multiple units.

FX  Fx crown leak !!

Uh oh! I just realized by looking at the picture you provided that your Crown is likely a MkI. If so, it is possible that the regulator body is the smaller 8mm one instead of the newer 10mm one. That would mean the sizes of the o rings I provided are incorrect. You'll have to check your rifle out as the later MkI's had the bigger regulator.

Sorry 'bout that.

Cheers,
Greg
Thanks body. I have replaced this three orings with orings the I found in my repair box. New oring kit is been ordered ;)

Setup my Table for Rats…

My seup for the upcoming weeks’ attempt on rats. This station is only 15 yards away from the pictured kill zones. Have had great success with a similar setup in the past. Atomic XR, TP on low, with Zulus atop sending CPHPs. Am hoping to record some of the action. Confirmed my 15 and 25 yard POI today and if they present they are in big trouble… As you can see the set up is Peahen approved… My plan is to wait until sunset and go out and see what I might… Hopefully after the workday, I’ll have as much energy as I had enthusiasm today. Mapped a half dozen different ranges today for future bird pesting…

Leon, Nice setup. After the storm last week ,there's a wood framed metal covered door mashed up on the ground at the farm. So yesterday I thought I'd do a
penetration test (again) w/ the Kral NP03 rat gun. Don't know what gauge the metal is or if its the same as the last metal I found, there are three different
buildings from a couple outfits on the farms. At the "normal" power level (700+ -fps) w/ FX/Hades at 15/16yrds , the shot severely dented the metal and would surely have caused damage to the other side finish /integrity. Turning up to max the pellet blew through leaving a hole easily twice the diameter of the .22 caliber pellet. I'll probably back off another notch on the power & repeat the test when I return. My max distance is 19/20 yrd.s at my spots . I wish I could set up a table like you have, but it's not in the cards.Good shooting!
