Trouble with Arken Zulus set-up

I received my new Arken Zulus a few days ago. As others had previously mentioned (so not really a surprise), it came without the rechargeable battery. I went to Batteries Plus this morning and purchased the required 18650 series lithium rechargeable battery. The brand name on the package is "Ultralast." The battery is too long and won't let the retaining cap threads engage. I have tried everything I know to try. It is simply too long. For reference, it measures 2.707" or 68.83 mm. So now I am out $40 additional dollars and still not able to power up my optic.

For those of you that have had success, please advise as to the battery brand you are using and if possible, its length, to help me diagnose this issue.

Additionally, for those contemplating ordering one of these, it does not come with the micro sd card either.

DZ
18650 flat top + positive not the normal raised nipple you get on a battery.
And get the long lasting ones.

N/A  FWB 120/124Dw

Ha! I just asked a question on another thread about stocks, and a couple minutes later, find the answer; there was some collaboration between Jim and Paul.
I'll never forget seeing a 124/127 stock that Jim had listed; one he called Emperor grade. Wish I had bought it, but you know what they say about snoozing.
A friend of mine bought that Emperor grade 124 stock from JM. He gave it to his 85 year old father for his FWB127. The 127 had what he called a "Mississippi Mud" finished stock....aka plain Jane brown like some of those stocks.

How does single action differ from double action in an air rifle?
Is it like two power levels? Something like 1/2 cocked vs fully cocked?
6lb carbine in wood? If it's tunable it could be fun, depending on accuracy.
Anyone know the price range?
It would appear the single action sear notch is slightly further back than the stroke of the double action, in essence, giving it slightly more hammer spring tension in single action.

FX  Is indexing your liner in the FX important?

I've noticed when using the CF tube over your liner, the indexing doesn't do much... When using just the factory o-ring, it did make a difference and was beneficial. For the CF tube I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze...
The cf tube may not give better overall results but I would think it gives better long term consistency. Once the orings begin to degrade or if the liner is placing more tension to one side they will eventually take a set on that side. Once those things happen I would think you would start to see some inconsistency in the groups or poi.

FX  M3 @ 500yds..

Nice!!! I would highly recommend trying the NSA 35 grain 217 slugs at around 900 fps. Or even better yet, Altaros 31 grain slugs. Unless you have the 1:14 twist barrel the 40 grains aren't quite as good.
It has taken me months and months with endless combo,s of slugs and velocities to come to the current setup.
Anything 217" shoots patterns.
Velocity...the 27.5,s do not like sub 1000fps in my setup.

On a good day , ie... no wind when you do your part , the M3 at present will shoot sub moa ....sometimes less than 1/2 moa @ 100yds.

These are an example....
Couple of groups at 110yds.... including a 15 shot group..

BTW... i would LOVE to try the Altaros slugs, but sadly i cannot obtain them here in Aus..

Norica  Dream Hunter .22

Shot this a bit more today. Still with daisy pellets which are grouping well when I do my part. At about 250 shots into the break in now, things are feeling really good. I sent 5 shots over the chrony to see how things are going for reference. My original numbers with the rws hp were about a 12 fps deviation, and an av of 671 fps. The daisy pellets weigh in at 13.25, instead of the rws at 14.2g.

The folks at daisy making me do math since they don't list a grain weight on the tin. Sample size of 30.
The deviation has dropped in half, and these are flying down range with an average of 778 fps. Manufacturer's are usually high in their advertising, but these numbers look pretty good since their claim is 820 fps on this rifle. I will take it. 17.81 fpe

Yong Heng Last time I rebuild...ahhh..#6..#7 in 3 years

I am distracted by the larger twin cylinder compressors as well. -BUT- I have two Yong Hengs, each 3 or 4 years old (the second came to me at a flea market of all places for $100). I have rebuilt both of them, one of them twice. Usually at around the 30 to 40 hour mark, that's a lot of air. I routinely fill middle size SCBA tanks from less that 3K to 4.2-ish K. My rebuilds have included piston sets, like $15 at Ali-express and o-rings. I did go WAAAAAY overboard on the cooling with large fans, radiator fans and more water flow. I have become good at tearing them down and putting them back together...maybe takes me an hour or so. When I do a rebuild, I order whatever parts I just replaced and 2 weeks later I have them. When I take one of them down for rebuild, I put the other online.

Sound extensive? It's not. And as I said, I have become good at maintaining them. I keep a shoebox sized quantity of parts on hand. To me the Yong Heng is a great value and I'll keep using them.

Pellet consistency

I agree that the shooter is the normal issue when the shooter is me, at least. I've measured weight on 177, 22, and 25 caliber pellets mostly H&N and JSB. I've also measured head size on 177s. I was surprised how much weight variation is in JSBs, I've mostly measured them in 25 caliber. FX, made by JSB, were more consistent and closer to their stated weight. But the JSB 34s shoot the best from my P35-25. Head size and weight variation were the best on H&N Baracuda Match but they are not offered in 25. At short range, I will probably sort some more but I am not sure it really makes enough difference to be worthwhile. I suspect it makes more difference at 50-100 yards. The one 200 I've shot on the 30 yard challenge was with H&N Baracuda match straight from the tin, no sorting, and shot out of a magazine. But it wasn't with SPA magazines, I think Carm magazines are a little gentler to pellets.

I also see less "fliers" from my more accurate airgun. Fliers seem to some degree due to a less than perfect tune or shooter or pellet. Hard to say for each flier what the cause was. But the fact that I get less with my best gun suggests it at least is not always me.
