2024 the year of imitation

I just think it's funny when the Ghost dropped and FX was very quick to have lawyers write letters about the power wheel by saying that was their baby and BRK needed to change it. Then we have the DRS. Yes it will be an upgrade to the Snowpeak and Remington and now Barra has one but I don't know who will cry foul first.

N/A  Thinking of buying my 1st PCP, need advice.

To me, you’re better off finding a higher end gun off of the classifieds than going with a new low end gun. Pride of ownership, fit and finish and a good trigger make owning a high end gun worth it, not to mention resale value if you decide to get rid of it. I have bought several used guns and have had good luck with all of them. You just have to be careful and make sure the deal is legit.

First doozy ... makes one feel awful! Classifieds WTB .22 Slugs

Aaah, a forum plus a marketplace that nobody gets or has to worry about negative feedback. Kinda sounds like the world we are starting to live in now. Just do what you want. If you get busted, flip the script and turn yourself into a victim or do anything else you can to make the accuser leave you alone.
Already living in that world, I agree with you for the most part. Not worth the pros, cons, and effort on a forum. At best, courtroom would be 'maybe' somewhat better these days. I'm choosing not to, right or wrong, innocent or guilty. The experience pushes me towards coverage, return policies, and payment methods not well supported under a forum format by its nature. Forum formats are landmines and I'd still choose a court system process. The costs ... how I determine them, not worth it. May be different for others here on AN. I have no recourse here without dropping in a ton more money than what is already lost. Take the feedback given through out this thread along with some solid feedback from other members ... no negative feedback required perhaps? Regardless, everyone needs to pick and choose their fights wisely. Larger can of worms with that world you envision. I'm tired ... calling it quits for today.

FX  Johan from FX talking about the DRS Video

I contacted HPP today. They said they only have so much info on the gun but think they will be getting more info soon. I think the preorder said non refundable but if it’s not the gun posted on the website, I’ll be on the fence about trying to get my money back. If they only produced the plastic version, I wouldn’t have even read about it or wanted one. Even if it shot 1,000fps at 100b with a 500mm barrel. My guns are tools but I like good looking tools. Keeps you mindful of what you’re doing. And like my dad said, a banged up nice gun is still better looking than a cheap plastic gun. I would like to see the cheaper walnut stock. Or maybe the pictures we are seeing are of the mid grade stock. Seems odd that there’s not even one picture of both anywhere. Unless they both have black caps. One painted and one rosewood.
The nicest walnut stock I have is on a Cooper rifle. Initially I was pretty stressed when I would take it out, but then I got over it and enjoyed the rifle.

N/A  HW95 Tune From Dealer

I think you're spot on with the demographics. I haven't been on reddit but I've been on other piston gun forums and I'm a baby on them too. I'd love to see more young people get into traditional piston guns.

Most new people now start with big box store magnum piston guns. They're usually in search of the fastest most powerful air rifle they can get. Unfortunately most of them are junk and or difficult to shoot. This usually burns them out of the hobby or sends them towards PCPS. Honestly who can blame them? Lots of power and easy to shoot accurately. A small percentage of them will search out quality piston guns.

The days of new high quality piston gun sales are numbered. The market is literally dying off. Eventually there won't be enough interest in them to keep a good selection available. Diana has already shrunk its line up of quality German made guns in favor of PCPS and compromised quality piston guns. It won't be long before Weihrauch shrinks its line up. They already have been selling PCPs for years. There's been rumors of AirArms curtailing their piston gun line up.

Old gun designs need young interest to keep them alive. In the age of instant gratification, I don't see it happening. I hope I'm wrong.
You may be correct BBs are slowly dying off. My 1st gun was an Avenger, it was a very good purchase. My second gun was a $2000 FX WC Bottle, worst purchase ever. Sold it about 12 months later after throwing more money into it for $1250. I still hate myself for being so stupid. Over the next few years I kept buying PCPs, until I finally woke up after reading this forum over @nd over and thought WTF am I doing? Try something new like springers, I haven’t looked back. I sold off all my PCPS except a K1, 2 GK 1s, Notos anda RAW 1000 x which I won. I shot the RAW and K1 today for the 1st time in weeks and it was a nice change. I shoot the GKs about once every 2 weeks. I shoot my HW 30 and 50 almost daily. I ordered 95N field pro which ships tomorrow and has me jacked. I wasted so much money on PCPs I hate to think about it. Throw in all the compressors and the scuba bottle, and repairs., argh. For the $1600 I have total in those 3 self contained, far more reliable Weihrauchs I could have saved thousands and been much happier today. I think technology and guys like sqwirl bringing in new blood like cometas will extend springer life. I also think PCPs have the bigger problems with extinction, threatened by electric/battery power. Younger gen’s would be all over battery powered once perfected. No compressor no bottle 🥳👏

EDgun  EDGun easy fill with cascading 4 scuba tanks ?

I just placed an order for a EDGun Easy fill. I have been cascading using 4 scuba tanks. I am curious if I will be able to continue use the cascade method with the easy fill or if I will only be able to use one tank at a time ? Maybe open 4 tanks at the same time? I know, I could have investigated this before I made the purchase.
Huben GK1 pistol.
FX M3
Thanks,
John

I want the bayonet! When the SHTF your survival airguns gonna need a bayonet.
Yeah, they showed it with a knife in the case. I was actully expecting the knife to be in there. The case was empty. Not even a candy treat or some beef jerky. That would have been nice. (like the Pellet Shop does).

N/A  Need advise please

Thanks for the replies.

I believe I will not be satisfied with a PCP. I'll spend the proposed money on higher quality 22LR match ammo than what I normally use. I haven't tried any higher quality ammo than Lapua Center-X.
I have a 22LR competition bolt rifle that gets >.5 MOA with Lapua Center-X at 100 yards and a heavily customized Ruger 10/22 that gets 1 MOA with CCI Standard Velocity at the same distance.

FX  Why so many refurb wildcat MKIII

Yup. I think you are 100% correct. I know that's exactly what i did after the Wildcat MK III BT came out.
Tempted, too, but decided to go with AGT. Still enjoy Wildcat MK3 .30, recently found it loves ZANS BR100 (56 grain) pellets, how cool is that? WM
