Corrosion on aluminum threads

Maybe try the lemon juice binager thing to soak then maybe take a something like a plastic sour cream container with some sand in it and shake roll them around to sand scrub the bolts/ screws clean and bright.

Then check out dielectric aluminum grease as a protective coating .

( for a example)

2mm sounds about right. I'm not to concerned with it right now.
Them threads are a funky sized I think he uses a uncommon pitch thread do you best look that up before you strip in something else ..

Air Venturi  Air Venturi degassing port leak

Good afternoon,
I have a Air Venturi Avenger which was my 1st PCP. I have had a lot of fun with this rifle but it has developed a small leak. Using the soapy water trick I found that the leak is at the degassing valve. I degassed the gun and took the needle out of the port to look for anything that might be causing the leak. The port was clean. I then recharged the gun and still have the leak.

The gun is over 1 year old so it’s out of warranty. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

HFT scope

I just ordered an Athlon Heras 4-20 to perch on my newly acquired Huntsman Regal .177. Based on posts here I made my choice with the above post as one of my considerations. I am hoping the 1 inch tube will keep it closer to the bore axis, and look “size appropriate” for the demure Huntsman. Looking forward to getting it mounted and all tuned up.
RK..
@Roadking - so how are you liking the scope ?

How do you guys keep the silica beads in your filter from absorbing moisture when not in use?

I have a one way valve on the output of my extra filter filled with color change dessicant. It came with an extra cartridge so I filled it up and put it in a zip lock bag. The extra cartridge changed color quickly (weeks) but not the cartridge protected by the valve. The other end of that line is at the vent of the YH which I leave open. But still the dessicant stays good for months. I guess there is nearly zero flow past the vent, down the line, through the YH filter and into the dessicant.

You don't need flow for moisture to move down the line - it will do so via simple osmosis. This can be made worse by the likely presence of liquid water in the line at or near the compressor evaporating and then the vapor moves down the line into the desiccant.

While you are getting a satisfactory service life from your filters, it will probably be extended further if you seperate it from the compressor and cap it with a good seal after use (maybe a deadhead?).

Just a suggestion . . .
