Central Pa Airgun Results 10/28

In spite of various hunting seasons, PSU home game, and illness we had 6 shooters today shooting the tiny paper critters at 20m. Much like deer they seem to crouch when you shoot. For the third match in the last four Sam got the best of us. I think we need a Bounty on him. Good shooting Sam. Those who did not come missed a good time, maybe next month, date to be announced.

3-12x32 scope choices?

I have a short neck too. Instead of resting your cheek on the stock try pushing your face sideways against the stock just enough to feel comfortable. I don't know why I have adapted to this so easily but it really doesn't bother me especially if plinking in offhand position. It's like 2nd nature.

The HK300 in the photo has a stock designed foremost for iron sights with the option of a high scope mount so a scope can never be low enough to rest my cheek on the rifle. It's a compromise I gladly deal with to have a nice scope on the gun. The Nikon never did this fine rifle justice and for my style of shooting which could be 15 yards to 300 yards this scope is fantastic.
That is great to hear. Hope you continue to enjoy it. Don

Brocock/BRK  Reducing .25 Ghost barrell

Hoping you all can recommend a machinist to either reduce the stock .25 Ghost barrel / shroud or machine a LW poly blank to my needs. My concern is that the .25 HP has such a slow twist rate that a reduction will have negative impact on accuracy. Use case: I need a .25 to be pellet on pellet at 50yards while still maintaining around 850fps at max. Use case: Critter removal that occasionally involves dragging through heavy vegetation. Why choose the Ghost over any other of the .25 carbines you ask? I wanted a reliable PCP with integrated dovetail and an on the fly power adjuster like the wheel. In a video from AOA before the release they mentioned that the .25 would come out in a carbine variant, but sounds like those plans got scrapped.

Any recommendations on people to talk with or firsthand knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

Other  Sheridan vs HW30s

Nice back yard range:)!

What kind of groups are you seeing at 75 yards with the .20 cal. HW30?
I haven't put it on paper yet. Not even to zero it. I shot it and saw the dust fly then walked it on to target.
Shhh. Thats my front yard. Lol

I have my target box repaired now, so I'll shoot some paper this weekend.

Other  Writing book about Sharp - request for photos/info/serial numbers

Hi,
After 4 years of collecting Sharp products and Sharp info, I have decided start writing a little book about it.
There are many question marks, but it will hopefully open up new doors for a second edition!

If you have/had a Sharp, and would like to share some information / photos, then I would be very grateful.
If you prefer to do so privately, then you can reach me at: [email protected]

Two more concrete questions:

1. I am trying to find logic in Sharp serial numbers.
The following info would be most helpful: sn of your gun, together with the model and caliber.
One or more photos for the book would be a big bonus

2. I am looking for good quality scans or photos of original Sharp documents that you own.
Catalogs are at the top of the list, but manuals, exploded parts diagrams, ads and letters would be great as well.
As long as they are scans (preferably) or photos of original documents;
I have found everything on the web already (trust me LOL). (Catalogs on The Airgun Enthusiast Channel, documents on VAGF, etc.).

Thank you in advance for your attention,
Kind regards,
Louis

ELR Coyote , How Far Would You Go ?

Where I live coyotes are not native, they are invasive pests.
This sentence builds what is a very important point. The animals, whether they are mammals or reptiles, etc. that don't belong to ...don't know the correct English term. But not native and invasive pest says enough.
They upset the cycle of nature and can cause irreparable destruction.
I'm completely on the same page as you, even though there aren't any here at latitude. But we have our own problem animals here.

I'm not saying that they need to be tortured or something. Hit with lead or hit by a projectile of whatever it's made of and nature will do the rest.
Still, there are laws and regulations here that I myself have to follow. For example, regarding the fact that you may not hunt anything with an air gun. Funny how the need for power varies between different countries even though it's roughly the same animals. But it is what it is

Old "Favored" .22 Caliber JSB 25.39 Monster Design - Which One?

Can you imagine the flood of these covid pellets for sale in the Classifieds if the re-re-redesigns are good?
Sheesh! It's confusing enough, now ya gotta add another MRD into the mix....OUCH!
It'll take at least a year to filter out all of those crappy pellets until they are all gone and only the 'new' ones remain.
