Hey Stretch!Nope, not likely. The AEA transfer port design isn't like what you're thinking of. It has a wide groove around the outside of the barrel and several holes around the circumference. This is how they are able to move so high a volume of air without having to have a huge transfer port in the barrel. And they are able to thread the barrel into the receiver instead of using set screws. It's rather clever IMO, I'm surprised more manufacturers don't employ the same into their designs.
I would first confirm that the barrel is bent. Remove the shroud, lock nut on the barrel and then unthread the barrel from the receiver. Roll the barrel on a flat table. If it rolls smoothly it isn't bent.
With the regulator at 150 bar your pellets / slugs should be zipping out pretty fast. I sold my .22 Challenger Pro a while ago but if I recall correctly, I was getting 24 grain slugs going at 950 fps with about that same regulator setting.
My best guess is that one of these is your problem:
- the transfer port is blocked somehow (doesn't seem likely but is worth checking) or the breech o-ring is missing/damaged. Put a piece of tissue by the pellet probe, load and shoot a round. If the tissue flaps like a flag, that's probably the problem.
- there's something broken, bent in the cocking / hammer system so that the hammer isn't hitting the valve pin as hard as it should be.
Basically, one of two things are happening: either the hammer is striking correctly and most of the air isn't reaching the pellet or the hammer isn't striking correctly and isn't sending as much air to the pellet as it should be.
Bin Tac is the guy you want to talk to about repair / replacement parts. He came through for me when nobody else would.
The problem is not enough tree cutting. Fuel load builds up, so what would have been a small, confined bad fire becomes a large unconfined one.
Thanks Haj,Talk about efficiency and accuracy! Nicely done Michael
Looks like mine.Shot with my hw77 at 100yds
Slight headwind iron sights

I've already posted to information explaining this can be done at 20k PSI and a press which will deliver that pressure with manual operation and one that is hydraulic. People are swaging bullets with the Corbin presses linked. It is just a matter of which caliber is the best to match up with an airgun and a firearm.
