Moving from Pellets to Slugs

So I have a very accurate Kalibrgun Cricket .25 shooting 25.39 gr pellets. I have a pesting permission shooting pidgeons on a dairy farm. A vast majority of my shots need to be between 40 and 90 yards. Wind has become a factor at 60 yards and above. Seeing as how slugs will be less impacted by wind, what would be the best slug weight to step up to when testing slugs to beat the wind and also keep the tuning adjustments to a minimum? I know the answer is.. buy some and try some. But I am hoping someone is shooting something similar and can keep me from having to re-invent this wheel all alone.

my son has a 2020 model .25 cricket and it really does well with the FX hybrids.
his gun was power tuned by Charlie @ georgia airguns when he purchased it new.

I would try shooting with FX Hybrid Slugs. They are 26gr and have a BC of 0.090, while the JSB Exact Kings weigh 25.39gr and have a BC of 0.039. I almost exclusively shoot the FX Hybrid Slugs in my .30cal FX Maverick VP with excellent results.

Please be careful at the dairy shooting slugs. Slugs carry a lot of energy down range. No problem shooting away from the cows like most of the shots by the S. African guys.

We have tested our slugs also in the Cricket. The best results were achieved with the combination of the diameter .249 and a weight of 30 grains. However, the average speed of 855 FPS was a bit below the usual optimum between 900 - 1,000 FPS.

Please be careful at the dairy shooting slugs. Slugs carry a lot of energy down range. No problem shooting away from the cows like most of the shots by the S. African guys.

I’d just move to 34 grain King Heavy pellets. BC 0.060, shot great from Cricket .25.
