Hi all! New member here, moved to Mississippi last year and since most of the shooting I can do is air I am getting more into it. Have a couple Walther 10m PCPs but saving up for an FX Dreamline Classic to use in my silhouette competitions

I do a lot of silhouette before moving here and nothing closer than 4 hour drive, so I do more air now. I have a set of reduced targets to 20 meters in my backyard and an area I can do the full 45 yards occasionally but it's too easy to just step into the back yard and shoot 80 shots at the swingers

@thauglor Mississippi is narrow so you shouldn’t have to drive far to find a range or a decent area to shoot if you need longer range or a change of scenery. What sort of scopes are you using? Do you have a favorite?

All the matches are towards the coast, about a 4 hour drive so just a bit too much to do monthly trip there. I try to make the big ones but then each one has the travel and hotel costs associated but still doable

The Leupolds and weavers are preferred in silhouette. I like the 24 or 25x Leupold with as big of a dot as I can get, usually a 1/2 or 3/8 moa. I just this past week got my first Weaver t24 so looking forward to seeing hiw that one compares. They are liked because of their light weights and the leupolds because of their lifetime warranty

I have used a 36x before and i like that magnification but just a bit too dark in the older leupolds 40mm designs but any scope will be dark at that limited objective size

I'm looking towards the dreamline classic due to the flatter forearm compared to the daystate revere or AA s51p series. Then with the easy adjustments I can use lower power settings for my backyard 20 meter range and turn it up for an actual match

Right now I am shooting an lg400 in the target class

@thauglor Understandable North to south driving sucks. I don’t know much about silhouette shooting. As a competitive shooter I think you’ll fit right in on AGN. There are plenty of them around.
