Prophet 2 questions / observations

The Prophet II sound like its going to be a power house gun, I am a pellet shooter as I see no need for slugs the way I shoot.
I was told my Compact 22 will be shipping out the last of September. I guess there going to wait until the last day in Sept. LOL. I really like my 177 Orion magazines.
I will be ordering a couple 22 Magazines soon.

who is the Tech in Utah ? I thought AOA would cover the Warranty work on the Prophet? I know a leaking new Prophet is a pretty rare deal. I have only heard of one other one,, You sure its not a FX, LOL just kidding.
Mike
It was purchased from RTI Arms Shop in Spain. I should have been more patient and purchased from AoA.

Anyone else have the RTI LW barrel? Mine leads up very quickly, even getting flecks of lead in with the usual black grime. Have Teslong borescope arriving in a few days so will check it out.

Perhaps I should not compare the terrible LW barrel I had on the Delta wolf that was clearly faulty but are LW barrels known for fouling quickly?
If you are talking about the "old" LW Barrel (not RPB) I confirm that they leads up extremely quick. I polished mine and it is better now (300-400 rounds before loosing accuracy). But I will try another polish, the ID of my .177 is so tight that I can easily work on it.

I was talking about the new RPB. Yes it leads up quite quickly. Ive just given it very thorough clean and light polish with chrome cleaner. Came up sparkling but still leads up fairly quick.

I was under the impression the new RPB was poly but its not. 6 land standard.

Not Poly at all (I was at RTI Factory last week). I saw that a lot of LW barrels have inner marks and micro-scratch from the machining process. Try a polish with J&B compound+Flitz. Start with a small amount of push/pull (maybe 50 in total) and repeat the procedure if needed.

Pic after polish and clean today. Then another after about 50 shots. Yes the breech and transfer port area have a few scratches. To be honest, now Ive turned the reg up to 130 the speed has settled down and the groups are amazing apart from one flyer in every five. So at 50 mts 4 in the same hole and one at 1" away, every bloody time. Its probably pushing out lead buildup. Ill try lubing perhaps.

Wow, maybe I should cancel my barrel order, they ain’t cheap and if it comes rough like that, I’d just as soon have something machined for me. I didn’t realize the barrels were months out when I ordered, but they sure charged my card right away.
After a good clean the barrel looks amazing quality. See the first pic. It’s a bit of a mystery why it fouls so quick and starts throwing flyers. I’ll try to polish up the breach to see if it helps. It’s hard to recover non smashed pellets at 50 ftlbs to check them over.

Kinda of apples to oranges , But I heard you say H&N Mine is 177 Uragan is my H&N pellet gun just because I got so many H&N 177 10.65 grain, Gun has always been a super accurate gun, for over a year shooting the H&N Then gun started shooting all over the place coffee can size groups at 48 yards, Open a can of redesigned H&N same thing cleaned my barrel again,, Dam I thinking some wrong with my gun.. Picked up a can of my Vulcan gun JSB pellets EXACT HEAVY DIABOLO 10.34 gr. One ragged hole at 48 yards 15 shots, loaded another magazine same thing,, Something changed from one can to the other in the H&N pellets, I even opened up two more new H&N tins same thing,,, So its not my gun its the pellets

Latest news on trying to improve my P2 .22
The best Ive regularly achieved with pellets is about 1.6 MOA at 51 mts with JSB monster redesign but havent tried pellets for a while and a few things have been fixed since then.
It seems to like H&N 27gn slugs. So far only tried .218. .217 have just arrived but haven't shot them yet. Both feel very tight if pushed down the barrel. With slugs I can regularly get 1.4MOA and occasional sub MOA at both 50 and 100 mts. It really didnt like ZAN at all. Need to figure out why.
The reg creep seems to be sorted. Have been away for 6 days and when I got back the gun has only gone up 4 bar on a digital gauge. The reg story is in a different RTI regulator thread.
The velocity has been a bit inconsistent but I may have just found a possible cause. The breech O ring has chunks shaved of it. The barrel mouth is smooth enough so I suspect its caused my the magazine. When the pellet is pushed out the magazine snaps down onto the probe and O ring and probably damages the O ring when withdrawn. The holes in the mag had sharp edges so I have smoothed them off.
The transfer slots in the barrel were slightly slicing one part of the pellet skirt. I turned down a bit of dowel to 5.5mm and spun it in this area with a bit of chrome polish. Now not marking the pellets. The probe does not completely push the JSB monster rd past the transfer slot. I dont think its a problem. They have a deep hole in the back so probably everything else will be pushed further (see pic - end of skirt still shows).
The O ring under the barrel clamp screw lets some air past. Ive put a slightly larger one in there and seems ok now.
