This one has been with me for a good while. Bought the Tomahawk .22 and a Pro Elite .22 about the same time(1998 or 1999?)Work got slow and had to put them both up for sale. The Air Arms rifle sold in a flash. Would sure like that one back….Kept the old Tommy. I’ve never dated it and don’t know the code. Can anyone help? I’ve never had this one open, but it shoots really nicely for a rifle at its power level. May get an ARH spring and piston seal while I still can. Would have loved to have gotten a walnut stock, but the old rifle is powerful, light and purposeful. Think I’ll keep it around!

....a lack of a choke doesn't affect a thing with "seals burning". That's just not how a springer works. If your "seals are burning" it's from detonation caused by lube burning.
Or since you make your own, supposedly, you aren't making them from the right material.

Thank you for the information. So unfortunate all that build history was lost. I recall that after you mentioned it. I always want details and not knowing specifics leaves me wondering. I haven't shot it much over the years. It is up to spec and working quite well.

The UK built versions tend to go for a pretty hefty premium these days, IF you can find one for sale. Keep that beauty and enjoy it

Maybe you can get him to elaborate on how a choke that's 15 inches from the transfer port has any effect on the piston seal?

I also have the Tomahawk in.22, just like yours ,I put a ARH kit in mine and it made it smoother . Another thing No one talks about is the trigger,it is far more adjustable than most other springers,.I have mine rotated, how many triggers can do that?

20 years ago I had a Pro Elite and wanted a Tomahawk. Sold the PE because life and now I have some serious pangs of desire.

Always hate seeing Tomahawk threads... only because of my own stupidity. The Tomahawk was the first gun I sold that I regret and to this day, the only one I really, really wish I had back. I had gotten a .25 Thawk many years ago and had it tuned by Russ Best. In a moment of early onset senility, I sold that gun.

. And not just any Tommy it's a Venom Sidewinder 
There's a few around but a pretty rare bird here in the states!
Mine is doing about 18.5fpe at 600 feet above sea level and is extremely accurate with 14.3 JSBs. A keeper is an understatement in my book!
Would love to find another in .25 some day!
