AGM TS25 384 Image quality question

I just got the TS25 384 Rattler. After using it for a few night it feels like it is showing vegetation too hot and especially trees are quite bright. This is in SE FL. At the moment around 60F. RH is low. I was using some other thermals before (not mine) and I don't remember them being this bright. Is this normal? BTW the image inserted is on white hot, medium brightness, jungle mode off.

Yea that’s normal. Mine do the same. It’s going to pick up anything with heat. Which you know. It was sunny mid 40s here yesterday. I took my Burris handheld out last night coon hunting. The woods was hotter than I would have thought. So 60s things are hotter and it will show. You got good unit also. I have one in a 25-256 and the varmit 35-384.

@Nvr-Enough How do you like that Burris hand-held thermal unit? How does it stack up against your AGM thermals? Are the extra pixels even noticeable?

@Huncowboy That’s pretty interesting. I hadn’t had that experience.

Thanks for the info!

I like the Burris. For my needs it works. The image quality is nice. Honestly the few extra pixels noticeable?? But maybe those few extra is what helps keep it in line with my AGM. And for the price. It’s hard to beat. I bought my Burris few months back when they ran their special. I got it for under 8. 1k less than the AGM Taipan 25-384. A unit that can only be used to scan and nothing else. I can put the money I saved into something else.

Humidity is a killer on thermals, but I’ve also noticed if you have a fairly warm day then it cools off fast you see more vegetation. A lot of thermals have a setting that will smooth out the image. My superhogster (sold)had 4 settings, my pulsar hand held and i ray bolt have 5or 6 I think. I usually set mine in the middle. I passed on this fox and bobcat in the last week.

Could you please post an image of yours?
@Huncowboy I haven't forgotten about you or your question. Here's an image of a horse with an AGM Asp Micro 256 using black hot mode from approx 35-40 yards out.

Here's the same horse at about 65-70 yards.

This in an image from an AGM Rattler TS35-384 from about 15-20 yards using white hot mode. I really didn't range it. When I was scanning the plants looked a lot whiter, but the rabbit contrasted them clearly which Is how its presence even caught my attention. I think adjusting the contrast and brightness levels may help some, but I don't think that it will eliminate the issue. For me depth of field is hard to discern with this unit.

Thanks! I am going to take some images next time I am out with it, if I see something, and post them here. I don't think I have this much contrast. Being in "jungle" mode is better for sure.
