Tuning New Maverick owner tuning question?

I have a Maverick compact in 25 cal coming and just have a tuning question. I have watched extensively on adjusting the dual regs and am set there. I’m a little confused on the way to optimally adjust the hammer spring for my chosen reg set up. I watched a lot of videos on impacts where guys put the power wheel to max and adjusted the the internal hammer spring while firing shots to find the sweet spot for their reg settings. Can you do this with the Maverick in the same manner? The power wheel will be on adjust instead of max setting. Does that matter? With a chosen reg setting should I put the power wheel to adjust and play with HS tension to find peak velocity for that reg pressure. Then fine tune with wheel ? Am I on the right track ?

Adjust will be used after you have a speed on one of your power settings. You get the reg pressure where you think you want it and then put it on 7, max setting. Once you get a speed there you would adjust until your fps starts to go down. You will be placing the power wheel back on 7 after every adjustment until the fps begins to drop. When the fps begins to drop back down your adjustment until the fps was at its highest speed.
Now when you use the power wheel the fps should go down for each setting. Example would be setting 7-970fps, 6-955fps, 5-940fps and so on.
Hope that helps you out.

Yeah makes sense. Thank you.

FX says to set the HSA, Hammer Spring Adjustor to 19.4mm, you'll need digital calipers for this or convert to inches, that is the overall and a good starting point, I'm out a touch further about 20.3, if not going down the slug rabbit hole, Front 140/150, rear 95 to 115, I'm at 113.7, assuming 33.95 gr pellets on #7 you can tune for 890-920fps, then when using 25.39 gr drop the dial to #5 and you're good to go.

Jake, had a Maverick and Wildcat and would suggest just shooting it right out of the box with the pellets/slugs you plan on shooting. Then make adjustments. Your "perceived" tune will most likely not even be close... Start with the FX factory baseline with your gun and move on. There is no MAGIC here. Yours is yours and not mine and that is the difference. What is important is that you have fun and share 😁
