Hello everyone,

I would like to thank every body that offered suggestions on which rifle I should purchase. It came down to the Crosman Challenger 2021 and the Daisy Model 599 after all the good advice that I received and all the information that I could find on the internet. Reading a lot of reviews and watching a number of videos I just could not make up my mind, so I ordered both rifles. They arrived late yesterday afternoon and after taking them out of the shipping boxes I am so glad that I did buy both. They are both great looking and feeling rifles and are also very different in many ways. This will be a fun adventure this Spring and probably this Summer comparing them side by side.

Thanks again everyone,
ThomasT

Wow, I am so jealous! Not one, but two new rifles. I will be watching to see which one is the top 10m shooter.
Good morning @tcarlson777

Tom you know me, I am a bit slow so it will take a bit of time for me to get comfortable with both of these guns. I do plan to shoot the Crosman today just to get the scope adjusted. I also hope to get a scope installed on the Daisy. This is going to be a ton of fun  .

Have a great day,

I took my Crosman Challenger 2021 out to shoot a couple days ago. Since Crosman saw fit to provide a scope rail I mounted an Airmax on top and was plinking targets at 45 yards. It was so much fun to shoot at longer distance with a ten meter rifle. The low powered Challenger was able to punch holes in one side of a tin soup can at that range. That surprised me. I zeroed at 25 yards and was using 2.5 dot holdover at 45 yards with the scope at 9X. For the longer range plinking I was using JSB 8.4 grain domes and not wadcutters.

I was not aware of the Crossman Challenger. I am glad you started this thread, and look forward to your journey.
Hello @Str8tshooter

I am shooting the Crosman now and will have some more info on it this afternoon.

Hello @Kgphotos

I will to do some 25-yard shooting later on but if I hold to my original plan, I will only shoot Wadcutter pellets with the Challenger. I do plan to shoot some domed with the Daisy.

Hello everyone,

Attached are three targets that I shot this morning with my new Crosman Challenger 2021. I shot each row with a different Wadcutter pellet and have labeled each row with the Brand / Weight. I did not make any adjustments to the scope and aimed dead center at each target. The 9.3gr were the only pellets that fell below the Bulleye, and that is thirteen different pellets and they all shot well at 10-meters.

I took this rifle out of the factory box, did a complete cleaning and then followed that with a complete oiling of all the moving parts. Then I added the scope and zeroed it on a different target and next shot these three targets, I have to say that I am extremely pleased with the accuracy.

Looks to my uninformed eyes that those QYS pellets are worth their price!
Hello @tcarlson777

I shot some of them on other targets and they are lazers____________________🎯

But with that said, look at the first row, the H&N Finale Match Heavy 8.18gr, all in the black. Theses pellets shoot good in all of my guns.

It's a good thing that I am having to hand load one pellet at a time, if this rifle had a magazine I would have to sell my house to afford the ammo :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I have now shot over 200 rounds at the General target and have not missed a single bullseye. This dog-gone little gun is accurate and a ton of fun to shoot

Anschutz 8002 !!!! It is so solid and boringly accurate. It’s one of my all time favorites. I installed a Donny FL and mostly shoot it indoors. Makes no noise except the pellet hitting the target. I used it for the “one hole challenge” and it performed as always. It’s fore sure a forever keeper. The target was shot at 13 yards…….that’s 5 shots!

Wow! Just Wow! Glad you took our advice on your purchase(s) 😂 Now, I'll have to say that one hole groups are not fair with Olympic Match rifles. Well, maybe at 50 yards 🤪🫢

Hello @rsfrid

Oh come on Ross, it's just a little-bitty pellet rifle ;), it is completely harmless .

Well you were right about how well the Challenger would shoot. Now I need to find a smaller scope that will look better on the gun and have the features of the big scope. Thanks a whole lot for all your personal help.
