New Hatsan Springer

I have the Mod 95 Votex QE in .22 cal, I'm loving the rifle but.....It's too good to use as a beater and I've been jonesing for a .25 cal so I just pulled the trigger on a Hatsan Mod 1000X in .25 ca. at the unbeatable price of $124.99 with the included scope. I don't intend to scope it so I'll have a spare when the cheap scope that came with the Mod 95 craps out. I'll have a gun to experiment with when it comes to tuning too. I'll let everyone know when it arrives if it's a decent rifle and what condition it is when I open the box, who knows maybe it'll be all beat up before I even use it on my first squirrel hunt and save me the trouble.

$124.99 Hope your not expecting much My scope mount cost more
Hahaha, I'm easy to please, if it shoots with an average velocity, rolls soda cans in the back yard and kill a squirrel once in a while I'll be more than happy. At that price point I have a pretty fair idea of what I'll be getting.

Hatsan 1000X .25 cal...lol. Bought it because I wanted the gas ram and Beech stock for a Webley Valuemax .20 caliber I was tinkering with to convert it to a gas ram.

Trigger is pretty easy to tinker with and can be made a bit better with a .25 cent screw you should be able to get in your local hardware store and a little polishing. Action is easy to tear down too and as long as they didn't gouge up the piston seal installing it, a good cleaning and better lubes also makes it a smoother better shooter.
The one in the pic now belongs to a friend in Florida after I rebuilt it with a spring I had in the parts box.

The 1000X is advertised as a full pound lighter than the 95 too at 6.4 lbs. which helped me decide to get it. With my shoulders in the shape they're in if I'm going to lug a rifle around in the brush I'll take all the relief I can buy. I didn't realize the trigger was not adjustable on the 1000X though, On the upside that will make my 95 trigger feel that much lighter.:)

The trigger on the 1000x is adjustable. I had a Striker many years ago and there is a screw that can be turned in. I don’t remember if I replaced the screw with a longer one or just turned in the supplied one. It’s not as good as the Quattro trigger but can be made acceptable. The tight curve in the trigger was to much for my large hands so I got rid of it. It was a good shooter. It didn’t have the SAS “shock absorber system” and was a scope eater.

That screw is behind the trigger. From the factory, it's an M3 x 5 and too short to make any kind of adjustment. Swapping it out for an M3 x 8 or M3 x 10, easily available at any hardware store takes care of that. Also helps getting one with an allen head as it's easier to slide an allen wrench through the trigger guard to make adjustments than a phillips screw driver. At least for me, I found screwing the longer screw all the way in, then one full turn plus another quarter was a decent place to start. Adjustments only a quarter turn or less and BUMP TEST every time you do. Load a pellet, get the barrel pointed in a safe direction and bump the butt pad on the ground 4-5 times to make sure it's not going to just fire on you if bumped.
That nasty curve in the trigger?? Easily fixed by taking it out, bending it straighter in a bench vice and cutting some of the bottom off until it fits nicely inside the trigger guard. No more curve and if you want a bit sifter feel to it, put a piece of shrink over it.

That looks uncomfortable.
It is and finding ways to make one better is what brought me to forums back in 2015. Not mine, but what a friend did with his to make it a bit more comfortable to shoot with. Takes a bit of caution bending, but it can be done.

Thanks, I don't intent to scope it so that won't be an issue, I'm going to use this one to through in the back seat of the truck and take to the woods and shoot cans in the backyard...I just didn't want to use the 95 for that, plus with the scope it's heavy, too heavy to carry around much.

Yeah, I got a wife that feeds the birds...naturally the squirrels tend to get kinda troublesome through the winter, I don't care to kill them if I don't have to but too many around the house and they'll soon find their way INTO the house so I have to 'discourage' them from time to time. It's the red ones that we have, I don't believe I've seen two gray squirrels since I've lived in my current location and I've been here since 1980.
