Pretty good springs no doubt. How many times o cocked mine and forgot to decock it and hung it up ..Tune kits. https://www.airrifleheadquarters.com/page/page/251488.htm
Also, I would not worry if I left my HW95L .22 cocked all day, period.
That's bargin basement pricing, $5 bucks cheaper than the 1000X I just got in .25 which hits with a pretty good wallop too..probably the same power plant anyway. I bought 200 tin of pellets with it and shot them all off in a couple of days. waiting now for my next shipment. If a hunting gun hatsan pops up woth some alert deals .
This probably pop a critter on the cheap. ( Aint no inflated price today hw)

I use a gamo w,f mach 1 .22 for hunting .. it dont fool around. WHOOOPP!
I undetstand that pellet part ..lol. I'm kinda old school, I like wood and traditional styling. I bet the synthetic would be lighter though. The 1000X is in at 6.4 lbs. and I'm good with that but up 7lbs and up and my left shoulder won't let me hold the weight steady enough for a standing shot. That's why I'm going with the HW50S It's suppose to be 6.8lbs. I should be ok with that with the iron sights.I undetstand that pellet part ..lol. Happens to me and a fresh gun.
Then being you already pretty much got that your looking to move up so to say.
I got to admit that camo stock looks good .imho.. wish my gamo had that .
The gamo is my most comfortable sholdering gun .. my hatsan 95 most uncomfortable. The hw/r9 livable but for there money should be far better ( opinion)I'm kinda old school, I like wood and traditional styling. I bet the synthetic would be lighter though. Those are some pretty good numbers for a $100.00 springer, do you find yours to be accurate? I shoot mine with the open sights, I haven't done any real testing just back yard plinking stuff but after I got dialed in it remained very stable at 30 or so yards....until the trigger screw loosend up, the gun went from hitting every time to missing every time, I ran out of pellets before I figured that out. I'm due my next shipment of pellets today. I'm hoping that was the problem.I'm not a huge fan of Hatsan but they'll definitely put the smack down on small game. Broke out my .25 95 for a quick chrono and she's still pretty spot on. Think I paid $100 for it a couple years ago.View attachment 343519View attachment 343520
I don't find my 95 vortex in .22 cal. to be uncomfortable to shoot, just to heavy for me. This air gunning is a hobby for me.....if I was going to feed myself with my guns I'd stick with my powder burners. My little cocker spaniel is gun shy so those take her out of the picture, we get our exercise doing woods walks around my area. I'm in hopes of getting her interested in the hunt and away from thinking about the gun by using the air guns. So far its working, She likes to chase squirrels and I've been shooting them around the house off my bird feeders and she's getting excited about that and no longer is detracted when I actually shoot. Anyway, sorry about the long story, I was just trying shed a little light on my situation. The gamo is my most comfortable sholdering gun .. my hatsan 95 most uncomfortable. The “Quattro Trigger” is a very good four lever trigger. If you remove the two 3mm trigger adjustment screws and replace them with ones 3/32” longer, the trigger can then be adjusted to around one pound.I purchase a Hatsan mod 65 22 cal the darn thing fits good. I shot it open sights for bit at 20yrds shot good. Mount a scope started going out longer distance. Couldn’t get past 25 yards. mainly because of the 5 pound TRIGGER . It has the trigger that start with a Q It won’t adjust lower than 4.5 lbs This the second mod 65. I’ve had I sent the first one back for the same problem . But I’ve resolved to the fact it is what it is an I’m going to conquer it . Get it to at least 2 lbsit’s not a HW97 k but it wasn’t meant to be.
Jumping in here, The two screws on the trigger itself if turned in tight to the base will mess with the safety mechanism, at least it did with mine, the gun came with the front screw tight to the trigger, the rear screw out away from the trigger approx. one turn, I tightened it in so both were tight to the trigger and my safety stopped working, the gun would fire regardless of which position the safety was in. I backed it out and all is well again. Maybe if BOTH screws are replaced with longer ones it could then be adjusted to lessen the pull AND still allow the safety to function properly? The “Quattro Trigger” is a very good four lever trigger. The trigger when removed from the receiver has an engagement view hole in the side plate. The trigger can be adjusted safely and easily this way. Always use caution when reinstalling it and cocking the gun. The trigger behaves a bit differently under a load. Fine tune can be made now. The trigger does require the making of a ghost pin for reinstalling. Very simple to make. Guns, like their owners I guess... are all different.I guess the synthetic stock guns i got all fit me well weight, eye alignment , neck , but that hatsan 95 QE... Man ,feels like a cheap toy . The stock feels awkward / small, the trigger ( screw mod helped that 100%) , and the qe barrel just cheesy cheap feel like bean can steel.. somthing. Shot good after i refurbed the seal and relubed then not long after that the ram went flat.. now guys post pictures of there 95's and they look nice. More real in the older non qe. Heck at first glance just out of the box i thought the Turkish walnut stock was a man made fake wood..lol
I assume the early ones were made good vs today's you get. I mean now a 95 can be had for $100 +/-.
That striker i posted above looks more satisfactory .. and that camo stock i do like it's look. Now i do have a 25sc pistol i first thought naaa this aint going to work all loose and rattling .. its one of my favorites . Surprise..
Well I thought I had read this somewhere else in here but couldn’t find it. I did go. Another question comes to mind about the HW50S. If the spring gets weak, which I assume they all do at some point, is it possible to get an upgrade kit ( if you could call it that ) with a gas piston that is adaptable to the HW50S? I plan on doing a lot of hunting with this gun (if I decide to go with it ) so it'll be seeing some prolonged spring compression, although I intend to keep it minimized as much as possible. I also intend to put a lot of pellets through it at home also. I haven't ordered the rifle yet, they are on back order and aren't due in for a month but the sooner I get on the list as a paid customer, the sooner I'll get a rifle when they DO arrive.
Although, if I decide to go with the .177 they have those in stock....I'm still on the fence with that.
Thanks, I purchased the rifle today HW50S in .177 cal, it should be here by late week, I'm pretty excited to get it. I went with PA because AoA was out of all three cals. You can leave it cocked for a month if you want. It won't bother the spring. Light pellets, dry fires, and loose spring guides are what kill springs. You can get a Vortech or Maccari kit to rebuild the power plant if it ever needs it. Airgun spares in UK has oem replacement springs and seals for cheap if you want to go that route.
