.177 pellet for 100y springer recommendations?

I did ( monster redesigns ) and they did not do terribly well, though A LOT better than they did in the gun when it was factory and 600 mm long.
Stock it could not shoot any pellets but beats at speed, all other you had to shoot below 600 FPS where mind you they was also lasers, but soft hitting lasers.
The regular monsters i have never tried but i do have a single tin, beasts shoot very bad at distance even if they are laser like at 50 M then 75 M and they are all over the place.

At 100 yards it’s all about wind/BC so try 10.3 JSB or FX pellets, with wind I can barely get on paper @100 yards with 12FPE…..I tried. But I know people who can beat me with 12 FPE springer at FT.

Springer at 100 yards is an admirable goal, I think. It sounds more like shelf torture more than anything else. Btw, was this you?

Groups are self torture but plinking a hundred yards is definitely doable and fun as I posted earlier. I've been to AGN member Sean Gabrells home and shot at his range there. He's an electrician and has chains of 4" junction box covers hung out to 102 measured yards. He witnessed my little 8fpe laminate HW30 hit the 102 yard cover 15 consecutive times with either JSB 7.33s or 8.44s. I forget, it was probably two years ago. I stopped at 15 as not to push my luck and go out on a high note.

In any event plinking a hundred yards with a 177 springer is totally doable with the right pellet and very light winds. I've done beer cans and similar sized targets at 100 yards pretty consistently with almost all my scoped Weihrauchs. Some are recent acquisitions and haven't had the chance to stretch out their legs. I even hit a can at 100 with my peepsighted HW30 but it probably took 30 shots and needed a spotter to walk me in. Still fun.

There's something super rewarding in hitting an object you shouldn't be able to. Not to mention the time to target is hysterical. My HW30s seem to take forever to go 100 yards. They get there with a whopping 2 fpe. Lol.

Groups at long distance self torture because it is too much pressure. I won't shoot groups at 50 yards with the same HW30s. To keep things fun I limit them to 30 yards for groups and my other more powerful springers to 50 yards.

not to push my luck and go out on a high note.
A very important thing to remember.

I should not shoot as many shots at a 2" targets as i do, CUZ when you pass 20 - 30 shots at a that small target it all just look totally random and on a whole not very accurate.
5 Sweet shots are much better and give you a feel of what is going on as a outside observer.

The few targets i have shot that few shots at, well they are far in between, so for a outsider it do look more impressive when the target are small and far away.
When you are the shooter it is okay CUZ you see that " hey i actually hit that open piece of the target i was aiming for and which the previous 25 shots somehow managed to not hit "
But if i have 3-5 really good first shots, well i might well skip to the next target for continued Swiss cheese making.

I'm going to try the "sweet spot" weight that my pcp uses(10gr area); alsoooooooo
going to try the extremes(my lightest and heaviest)😅🤷‍♂️
Why not? I got em🤪🤙

Crosman 5.4gr Poweshot Fast Flight Penetrators
And

As Mycapt65 said shooting cans at a distance is a lot of fun. I’ve added two short videos(hope they work) of me shooting cans filled with water up to 80 metres which I think is 87 yards. I don’t have any 177 cal air rifles now but the pellet I was using in this video was the FTT 10.65 gr. You really need to know your holdover which is also challenging and fun.

I don't shoot groups at 100 yards, but I will shoot beer cans and 16oz soda bottles. With the wind down I can hit them pretty consistently once I find my hold over. Even had my wife's girlfriend hitting a beer can pretty consistently at 100 with my scoped HW30. I've used 7.33s and 8.44 JSBs in that gun at that range. It's fun as all hell but I wouldn't dare shoot groups that far. Especially with that light a gun.
This right here. Groups are very dodgy after thirty yards and the wind gets involved. Cans on the other hand are fun as hell to shoot. Hang them with a long piece of paracord. They reset every time you hit them AND they show wind direction. Best trick ever.

So I finally got to 100y with my .177 pcp rifle.
Now I want to try with my springer😅🤷‍♂️
Winchester 1100SS : for info sake; no tuning, just added a moderator(had to remove front sight to do so, so no irons)
Gunna have to debate on my scope options for what I have on hand... bc I know she kicks and the barska I was using is ...ehhhh...maybe if I change rings.
But projectiles....what weight are you all using?
Should I use the same ones as my pcp?...
All thoughts and comments welco

At my now closed range in Brookhaven NY 100 yards fell on the backing sand berm. Sand berms are great because with a properly adjusted scope you can see the splash from your misses. Then you can either use your reticle and or dials to hone in on the target. Once you got it figured out with the right tin of pellets its not that hard.

My interest in these shenanigans started this when I seen a rabbit spinner near the top of the berm at a measured 108 yards. For ships and giggles I threw a hail Mary at it with my now defunct 20 cal RX1 and came darn close to hitting it the first time. I used the reticle to measure the distance between my POA and POI and took a two more cracks at before hitting it.

A trip there is 49 miles each way so I usually have 5 or more guns with me so I started shooting at the steel rabbit with any gun that was working well that day. Inevitably I worked my way to my HW30s which I thought was the most fun.

Eventually the big bore guys twisted the rabbit and its frame beyond usefulness. My replacement became an eighteen inch piece of 5/16 steel rod pushed vertically in the sand with a empty beer can dropped over the top of it. The beer can berm combination works great. The can will rattle on the rod when hit and the berm will show your misses so you can compensate for wind and elevation. Calm days I just use the reticle. Light or steady winds I'll dial. Gusting and shifting winds usually shut me down.

Most of my airguns use Airmax scopes and the AMX reticle is amazing for this kind of stuff. Even on my usual 6x the glass is clear enough to see the splashes needed to make adjustments.

My favorite gun is my HW30 because it takes so long to get there. Then you see the can move and a split second later you hear the tink of 2 awesome fpe. The whole thing is a hoot snd makes me giggle like a school kid.

Anyway try it sometime. It's not terribly hard as long as you have a consistent gun and a solid bench. For what it's worth I shoot on a bench off my elbows and never use a rest. If I can do it, you can.

Have fun with it. You'll be surprised what you can do.
