Anyone have experience shooting all 3? Ive read through a lot of the past threads and find that most folks have used one or the other but never all 3.

Essentially I’m hoping for comparisons. What one does better than the other, shots per fill comparison, quietness/loudness, accuracy, you know the good stuff :LOL: Hopefully in .177 or .22
 
@Yoda_1794 There are loads of threads discussing these rifles. If you’re trying generate dialogue, then by all means don’t let me get in your way. But if you’re simply after information, I suggest running a few AGN searches and reading through some threads. These are three air rifles that have been discussed heavily in the forums. Below is a thread that may help (a Lelya 2.0 is essentially a compact R5M). My only experience is with the Lelya 2.0 and I love it for close to medium-range hunting in the woods. I’ve taken squirrels, rabbits, raccoon, and crows with it. It’s lightweight, compact which makes it easy to maneuver through thickets and undergrowth. It’s very comfortably to shoot offhand. It’s robust, and mine has been low maintenance and reliable. It’s pretty easy to work on for regular maintenance stuff. The report isn’t loud and you can buy a moderator that’s about an inch longer that’s supposed to be quieter. I bought one and never used it because o hunt in the country and the gun is already plenty quiet. Can’t think of many cons other than the cocking mechanism takes some pulling and pushing, not a whole lot. You don’t really have help cocking it as you may have with an actual cocking lever. BUT it comes with an ambidextrous cocking machanism (one cocking handle on each side of the gun). Ezana4CE I appreciate the thread link and your thoughts on the Leyla. Didnt run into that thread while searching. Search bar can be finicky and I try using the advanced features to fine tune the search. Ill continue looking through past threads as well.
Essentially want to add a .22 Bullpup to my collection. Im leaning towards Edgun since he’s local to me for future support etc. But I want to get an understanding of all my options first.

So far the Leyla seems to score high on quality and craftsmanship. All seem to shoot straight and great out of the box. I dont have definitives on shot counts. They all seem to weigh in at 6-8lbs.

I had the opportunity to shoot the Taipan vet long, Vulcan2 and 3, and a Leshey2 . My favorite was the Taipan- smoothest quietest shot cycle to me anyway, Both Vulcans were good solid guns through and through, The Leshey- I didn't care for the trigger pull of 2 pounds which is where my friend had it. If it can be lowered to just under a pound, my opinion would change. Didn't shoot the Leyla, same trigger?

@Yoda_1794 The shot count on the Lelya depends upon the tune. The regulator is internally adjustable meaning you have to degas the gun and remove it from the reservoir to adjust it. The hammer spring is easier to adjust and can be adjusted by removing the stock. The stock remain and hammer spring tensioner adjustment can be done in about 5 minutes. This greatly affects your shot count and power level.

As for the AGN searches, I try to start searching by using as few words a possible. Sometimes using Google search the site is easier.

I've owned, Vulcan 3, Uragan, R5M, Cricket, Prophet and Veteran all in .22.

Personally Vulcan 3 and Cricket would be tied for bottom. Not that they were bad guns just weren't for me. I see you mentioned Vulcan and not Vulcan 3. Based on that thinking not a bottle bullpup? If you were meaning V3 then I'd say look at the Uragan as I think it's a more refined platform.

Now the other ones I'd have a damn hard time trying to pick between them.

I owned the Veteran in Long, Standard and Short, and the R5M in Long and Standard. All .22. The Longs even though shot great are just too big to me. The Standards on both are fantastic guns. I owned the Taipan Short and that was my favorite for its compact size yet just performed excellent for how little it was. Shot count wise is a toss up as they were very similar in there respective size.

Today if I had to choose though I'd go Lelya 2.0. Out of all the bullpups I've owned and sold one I regret the most which was my R5M Standard .22. Something about that gun was just an extension of me. Nothing against the Taipans but the Edgun just had something special about it.

I’ve had a Veteran for around 6 years and a Lelya for maybe two. Could I decide between the two? No, that’s why I own both. If you are going to be Mr. Benchshooter, it’s a no brainer, get a Vet. For a goofy bullpup, the Vet really doesn‘t fight you pretending it’s a benchrest gun. It’s a cinder block. The Lelya is not at home on a bench. It’s for hunting. But it’s every bit as accurate as a Vet once you figure out how to sight it in from the bench. Offhand the Lelya is better than the Taipan also. I have no opinion on a Vulcan but would not be the least bit scared to buy one. Just never had the need for yet another bullpup that requires nothing other than a one and done tune.

I own a Lelya 2, a Vulcan 3 (compact), and the Taipan Veteran (compact).

You really can't "properly" compare the three, they are all VERY different from one another.
The Taipan the the Vulcan are "sort of" similar, in that all of their working parts...are...similar.
The Edgun, Lelya 2 is very different. Yeah, it's got a trigger and barrel !!! But the guns cocking mechanism is VERY different than the other two. The gun is VERY short, as compared to the other two. The gun is VERY...sturdy/tough compared to the other two.

In case you missed it (YouTube video), Ed himself ran over a Lelya 2 with his pickup truck, cocked it and shot is without problem, nothing broke or bent. The barrel is "fully" protected from from almost ANY sort of damage, short of being dropped off a 10 story building to concrete...maybe even then it might survive if it landed right !

All three are very good guns in their own right. ALL guns have their idiosyncrasies. The Lelya is a little odd to cock. The "current" Taipan is a rear cocking gun (NOT a favorite of mine), My Vulcan is the heaviest of the three. Not so much that is too heavy, just "heavier".

Some rave about the Taipan trigger, sorry, I don't see it as all that. The Taipan and the Vulcan's triggers are nice. The Lelya's trigger isn't bad, but takes a little getting used to. All are adjustable to your liking.
All three are adjustable for power by either the hammer spring and or the regulator.

An additional suppressor for the Lelya is specific and can be difficult to get. The factory suppressor does do a pretty good job of quieting the bark.
The Vulcan (3 !) is pretty quiet. Shooting it around my cats isn't a bother to them.
The Taipan needs an additional suppressor of some sort to bring it in line with the other two.

If you like short...obviously only ONE to choose from.
The Vulcans can be had in two lengths.
The Taipans can be had in three lengths.

If the above isn't enough...pick one from its look.
If that...doesn't help///toss a coin !
You won't go wrong buying any of the three.

P.S. - I've had zero problems with any of these three guns in time that I've owned them, all bought new.

Mike brought up something I forgot to mention. I did have a regulator oring fail in my Lelya. The gun suddenly became unregulated. Taking the gun apart was one of the coolest disassembly jobs I’ve ever done. Very well thought out gun. Didn’t even have to sight the gun in again after reassembling. My Taipan is a .22 standard and my Lelya is a .177. Both could be shot in the men’s room at a restaurant and not draw any attention.

The struggle is real.

There are a lot of great options in similar price ranges. Great time to be alive and an airgun enthusiast.

Some great advice was shared above. Appreciate your post for getting others to chime in as it helps my research on Uragan, Veteran, Vulcan in .25 or .30 for 200ish yard plinking.

A 25 caliber anything is going to need a little help keeping quiet. Ezana4CE has a 25 Lelya so he can tell you how loud it is without adding a bat to it. If you do get one, it’s not like you can’t shoot it from the bench. You just have to get creative. I use bags to sight mine in and for projectile testing.

I’ve owned all 3 but I still have the Taipan and Lelya.

Can't say that I've had any of the three however the Maverick humor struck a note. Weather and schedule permitting I try to get in an hour or two per day with a rifle and the dog roaming the Kalifornia farmland. I found out about the Leyla in the evening after ordering a Maverick earlier in the day. Called Brian the next morning, long wait for a Leyla however the synthetic stock RM5 was available and close in weight. The next day the Maverick and a RM5 w/Dedal scope arrived. The Maverick made a u-turn. My thoughts on the RM5 are parallel to Mike's, it's a keeper. Two years later, I still want a Leyla and found out they were back in stock after ordering a HW44 this week. Given that three Leshiy's are idle and one of them is my wife's, the timing is off otherwise it would be a done deal. Hope this nudges you in the right direction.
