One clicks worth?

I click at 50y r9 .177 .. how sad is that? Thats near a 1-1/4 @ 50y. ..lol.

I maybe need to go back and redrift the rear base again?

Then firm it in place

Or my poor old tired eyes are a failing me a tad more 😭

Wow. I guess some clicks are bigger than others.

J~
Ya, i started the drift and split the gap, but the shade moved in on the rack so the bull got harder to see. Now the winds picked up with the temp rising.

Anyway the few shots looked better on center.

I also got to wonder if the windage screw threads have maybe got out of wack due to high shot count/recoil in that spot? Im sure that takes its toll It's sooner or later .. definitely not 1/10 mm at 10m. I sure dont recall it being like this when at new..

Is the front mount screw tight? a trick here is to degrease area underneith sight - little drop of gell type super glue or someting similar that can fill small gaps for a better fit. and a bit of removable locktight on the mounting screw(s) . tired eyes ( or old ones like mine play tricks as well ) I really cant even use notch type rear sights on a rifle can't see the notch just a fuzzy bump Ican get away with a peep sight not great but gets me minute of squirrel.

Mr. Mac
I don't see how you do it. Iron sights at 50 yards...as stated before, you are super human.
I know you don't like to put a scope on that R9.
But man looking at your groups...it's crying out for a 3-9X Leupold. Love to see you reconsider and ...I have a feeling your groups are gonna shrink by 25% with a scope.

Whatever you decide... great shooting on your part.
Would love to see you with that R9 in a field target match. (maybe not competing against me LOL)

Well i do if you look at the picture with the yellow dot holding the base firm . The base will shift from recoil 👍

Thanks...

I do scope on occasion. There mixed in my groups threads as well ..

I now going with shot count recoil has put a spot in the adjustment.. i had another "funny" thing pop up toying with it . So maybe next major clean the gun day i need to pull it off and inspect that . Heck could be gunk in the click threads .. maybe just now falling under the nothing last forever claus..lol. Hw sights maybe high price but at least they have them easy to get , unlike most brands.

Have you tried painting the sights?
Using bright colors helps me.🎩🤙

I realized this while shooting my 35E with irons last night. Ended up just aiming with the corner of the front post instead. My Sport sights have spoiled I guess. Each click is 5mm at that range.
Here lately it's seems click 1/10, 1/10, 1/10.... Then a big jump / gap like you say . Just developed a bad spot .. 1/10mm at 10m should be close to 4-5mm at 50 i guess if you figure add a 1/10 each 10m you go outward ?

It was either a weird click for me or maybe I was moving my head more than I thought I was. Yesterday had been a long day by the time I got to shooting. I'm off in 15 minutes here so I'm going to go see what she does after I get home.

For a time now id notice close up that id get little junps left or right like 3 shots dead on bit 2 would be say just left then next shot go back dead on like the recoil of the last shot bumped it off then the next shot righted itself.. about acting like a bad scope in ways. Then the 2 off shots near same spots. .. not like a all over the place thing.

If i set up a 10m later on i see if I can show that in a picture.. its head scatching for sure.

I am not too familiar with the later Weihrauch rear sights, but surely they did not resort to plastic bits in them did they?
Ya, its metal that looks to mimic plastic.. i had to scratch test it to even be 100% sure ..lol.

So i just adjusted it all the way up and down and left and right shot a 10m to centre then shot this 50 .. sight in and finish shots ..

Now maybe a fluke but that in the red is pretty tight.. ill know if im able to shoot a morning coffee shots tomorrow and come anything clost to a repeat.. i got tractor work lined up so ??? We'll see.

Maybe now it's down to my suk butt poor ars shooting on the rest after this . Maybe work on my hold..

I was just going to ask that same question, in olden times most were all steel. now days a lot of plastic
Well the hw seems to be at maybe pig aluminum of it use to be steel . Serms just the sight base/ globe maybe trigger and its not bad stuff. Only plastic i can think of is the spring guide and its really a tough nylon type.

Other than that pretty solid wood and metal construction..

Apparently just turning the adjustment screws up ,down and fully left and right then centering them back did somthing good . Not to say im dead center but the first 5 today outside my premature trigger pull job flat sure got bact to tight groups .. 50y stock irons and 1 inch bull with cphp. Them last shots yesterday were tight above this just backs that up..

notbad50grpup.jpg

Now maybe try to fine tune it center. Or maybe dont fix it anymore..
