Need help with next purchase

Ok guys, so I sold my last 25cal airgun yesterday, and now have to fill the void.
for a little information, I primarily use my guns for woods walking, backyard petting, and shooting from my truck. The gun that filled this position before was a leshiy 2 25cal.
so what’s next? I’m not much of a bull pup guy (not a fan of the ping in my ear), and I really like carbines. If evol made a 25caliber, I wouldn’t be asking this question.
so my criteria are basically 25 caliber, decently rugged, Removsble magazine, compact or foldable for transport, decent power, but nothing crazy. The largest game I will take with it is coyote inside of 50yds.

so far I’ve looked at the panthera hunter with folding stock. I like it’s ability to tune up and down for certain opportunities. It also seems to have a more rugged build and barrel setup.

any other recommendations from the masses?

The new Pathfinder may fit the bill… check it out. Definitely rugged, dependable and accurate, as it is part of a solid, proven in the field, family lineup. Don’t know about going after coyote with it though. I feel only a select few, very good hunters can take coyotes consistently and humanely with Airguns. But that’s a topic for another day.

I always respect your recommendations. I think if I was looking for something a little lower powered, the pathfinder would be a no brainer, but with its power capped at 30fpe in 25, I think it’s just a little underpowered for what I’m looking for.

I thought it might be underpowered for Yotes…Looking forward to see what you decide on…

Ballsy, Andy, to sell your last 0.25 without a replacement in hand (or at least en route)...that's almost like quitting your job without another lined up! :)

I think based on your criteria, a (non-existent) 0.25 EVOL bc I know you've already been through several Impacts.

So true. I’ve needed the money from the leshiy sale to fund the purchase though. Unfortunate part of not having disposable income.
I actually messaged Tom at AAA, and he did hint at a possible 25 in the future. How soon, I don’t know, but I would like something to fill the void now.

The other option which I didn’t list, is to swap one of my 22’s to a 25cal. I have a crown mk2 with a 22 380 barrel, and a dreamtac compact with a 22 300 barrel.
I could swap one of those fairly cheaply to a 25 fill the evol shows its face. Just another option. Lol

True, I had a MkII Crown 380mm and it was a beast with the 34g JSBs...in fact, too much power for my needs so I sold it. Good fitting rifle too - it was the last non-bullpup i owned. A fancy laminate stock isn't probably great for taking around in the woods but the black tactical stock would be tougher/lower maintenance.

Without going to a bullpup, finding a mean little .25 carbine is almost impossible. A low power .25? Yes, that’s doable. Even finding a .22 with really versatile power is difficult in a carbine. The dwarf Panthera in .22 can push pellets to brutal pellet speeds if you can find a pellet and tune that cooperates. But it’s an anemic slug gun. As the caliber goes up, so does the need for barrel length. If you’re going to stick with 25gr pellets, the .25 Panthera might give you the most versatility power wise. But that gun is going to get long real quick when you hang a can on the end of it. It’s already longer than a .22 Panthera.

I don’t shoot slugs much, but I would like to shoot 33.95 king heavies (my favorite pellet). If the panthers can do it easily, I’d be happy, but I keep going back to my crown or dremaline. Am I buying another fx that one of my current ones can do just as well? 380 25cal barrel in my dreamline would be very similar to a panthera.

Yeah, if you can get a 33.95 moving 860+fps, things out to realistic hunting distances are in trouble. If you’re patient enough, someone, a non sponsored person will get a Panthera mini in .25 and post some results with the 33.95’s. I had a Brocock Ghost itchy finger and luckily a guy who I trust posted some great info on it. The thing shot great but when I saw his reg pressure, I knew the gun was about tapped out and he saved me some money. Good luck. I do understand what you’re looking for.

I Like This Idea The Very Best === This is your best choice as not to rush into something to fast lol. I would chose using the crown in .25 with the 380 mm over the other all day long JMHO.. You will then have something temporarily to fill the void that you know and enjoy and can take your time to make a more informed or better decision in the end.😍
