Exactly this, i always mark it workout equipment. LolPack the rifle carefully. Create a UPS label with Pirate Ship. Drop the package off at the local UPS hub, not store. If anyone asks what you are shipping say "spare parts" or "metal and wood samples". Send the tracking number to the buyer.

set up a free account with pirate shipping - they use usps or ups at your choosing. What company do you all recommend using to ship airguns that a person has sold?
No both UPS and USPS will ship airguns (USPS say's NO pistols tho). USPS wants zero pressure in it, that's all. If UPS and w/pressure it must go ground freight. Is everyone implying that airguns cannot be shipped? I've purchased guns from online retailers and they ship them to my door no problem

I Always declare what is inside as it is no issue (do ship say walmart UPS stores though, go to the hub) to do so. I have also in the past actually collected on the only 2 claims I ever had to file, yes about 6 month's each and I had refunded the buyer money long before I got reimbursed but both companies did pay a claim, WITH a LOT of documentation, proof of purchase & price (in one case requiring a invoice from a well known tuner as well) or a proven price where they can purchase one today themselves. Also a insurance is cheap compared to pulling $1,000+ out of your pocket esp. while there is a chance it is "still in transit" -1 reason for 6 month wait, geesh- .

Ahh ok makes more sense now. I always use the kiosk at USPS or Pirate Ship. Thanks for the future tipsYoda,
A while back had to send gun to FX-USA, when asked to describe contents to shipper, can't recall FedEx, USPS or UPS, stated "pellet gun" and all kinds of "red alert" notices popped up stating shipper wouldn't ship guns, gun parts, etc. Creative wording like, "pneumatic hole punch," "metal tools," "sporting goods," don't trigger red alerts. I think online retailers have agreements with shippers that don't require disclosure of contents, FX ended up sending a Return Authorization (RA) label that went straight through, no questions asked. Pirate Ship is nice, only require content disclosure for international shipping due to Customs. WM
