F-Class for Springers TX @ 50

I have been working at developing a F/G-Class parallel for springers to F/G-Class rimfire. It is for my practice, I do not expect others will take to it. F-Class rimfire is shot long at 100-yards prone with a rest or bipod. G-Class is the same but from a bench.

F-Class springer is intended as a 50-yards for long option. I developed what seem to be workable targets and am just trying things out now.

I put a "power washer" (Vortec) in front of the top hat in an otherwise stock TX200 MKIII. It is said to smooth out shooting with 10.3 grain pellets. It was the first time on the range with this rig. It seemed to but it may be just placebo.

The rig is a TX200 MIII in .177 caliber. I am shooting AA Field Heavies in 10.3 gr sorted to 10.4 gr. It has a Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50mm on it. I have a tweaked Allen front rest with a tweaked Protekor front bag (very soft) with a Protekor #13 rear bag. This rig works well.

I shot one set of 3 bulls to get oriented and dialed in. Target 1 was for dial in purposes.

I then shot 2 for score.

Wish this new hp printer did not drink ink so bad.. a xl cartage did 10 of toms simple targets and showed low ink warning ..lol. Its sad.. i like them you got to try..

quick 5@50.jpg

If id use h&n they'd be all one hole ..🥴

Would of shot 5 more but had to get the meat ready to burn..

A lazy hold and poor follow through dont make a good shot..lol

Got the meat on shot it some more before having to go fix up salad

Nice shooting. F class is from the ground. I like off a bench, better for old guys, lol.

I don't currently have a springer, but I enjoy a challenger. I may just have to acquire one and see what I can do at 50 yds. One question, how does your Vortex scope like being on a springer? The Vortex Diamondback 24x is one of my favorites.

It does great. It is supposed to be springer rated.

Yes, a lot of my shooting for Rimfire is on the ground. The off the bench they refer to as G-Class. I am not sure why.
The last time I tried shooting prone It hurt my neck getting lined up with the scope. Then it took forever to get up off the deck. Sucks, getting old. My days of shooting prone are over. I'm either seated or standing now.

My wife on the other hand loves shooting from the deck.

hmm ? she must want a new car ,looks like she is aiming for it .

I find it interesting how the definition of "prone" varies from place to place. I'm in my late 60's and have all the usual problems of my age (and then some). But I do my best not to give in to it. I tried some "three position" shooting drills like back in the Navy: standing off hand, kneeling off hand and prone off hand. I suck at it (thanks to mobility issues, gained weight, and two cataract surgeries), but that doesn't stop me from trying.

Yeah it looks like that but it's not in the way. Here's another shot standing on the porch just a hair right of where she's shooting from. You can see the right side bottom newel post of the staircase she's shooting through. The car is actually a small side by side that was parked on the blacktop pad to the left. You can see the targets are set at 50 yards and up the hill at 300. The side by side is close but not in any danger.
