If you could imagine the perfect FT springer ...

That's not hard to do since I already have one. I Picked up a Beeman Santa Rosa HW77 .20 cal last year from AoA. I couldn’t ask for a better tool to shoot field target with, I just need to do my part.

long? ago AAtx200 had a slide mount the TX200S never seen one or heard of anyone that has one ?
Yes...the TX200SR...great rifle. My two sons shot them for years. They got a bad rep for the sledge system comming out of adjustment, but was able to correct that after a little time and experimenting. They were limited to 12 ft lbs, but with some special tweeking we had a few running almost 13 ft lbs. Many were found to have a healthy burr in the breech where the pellet is loaded. That burr would cause the skirt to be reduced and a loss of power. After rechamfering the breech and resizing the pellet skirt, many were well over 850 fps with the trusty ole CP lites. They were a bit heavier and bulkier than the TX due to the rail the action rode on. Many people expected them to be completely recoiless, but they were not intended to be that way. The SR was meant to mean " slight recoil" but folks would mess with the rail trying to eliminate the recoil, but then found it to loose and accuracy suffered. By the time we found and fixed there little quirks, AA decided to stop production of these and a great rifle was laid to rest...once setup properly, they are awesome, a little bulky but great shooters !!

Very much agreeing with JP806 above post....

There is no doubt in my mind that the 54 (on its day) has the edge over all other springers, and currently still remains the holder of the best group of all time with a springer at 50 metres...
Steve Pope himself knew it, I believe preferred by Hec and the famed Brit champion Richard North advocated it after making that unmatched benched group, albeit moaning about the side lever loading when seated at the bench...

However, it comes with caveats...
It's ride the rails sledge gives it potentials over the others. (FWB 300s similar, but at 6.5ftlbs it does not make the power to combat wind at the longer ranges)
However, regardless of what the sledge design brings, it's tougher on scope fixing as the shunt back can have some impact on the scope....So it requires something like Hecs work above, or a one piece mount with solid arrest system. This is all the more relevant for the FT shooter as the scopes get ever more massive.

As mentioned above, they can get out of tweak without noticing. I am unsure if this down to the guns greater complexity of parts introducing greater potential issues, or if it's coming from a lesser willingness to keep going inside to maintain it, but In comparison the TX is a dream to open and close...

As regard Hec going the way of an LGV .....I don't believe it....
I've now seen 2 of these things with broken clam shell components....It's receiver trigger block no tougher than Crosman 766..is known to crack through at the interface of the guide fixing through to the fixing hole for the clamshell....not to mention trigger release issues if worn...
One of these issues has already been discussed by Hector, hence my doubts ...
My best guess, he's got pissed off with chasing the temp sensitivity of tuning plastics and gone over to the dark side..to chase power curves.

You got pictures?

Tony Leach set up?

My dream FT springer
1. Norica Omnia stock (modified for FT) with a TX 200 action (as stated above Picatinny rail on top). Built-in wind flag and inclinometer. Adjustable hamster and Butt hook
2. (unicorn FT scope?) March type scope (March quality, reliability, repeatability, minimal temperature shift, without the March price tag). 10 yard min focus ...Max Magnification of?16X? able to distinguish a minimum of 0.25 yards increments between 40-55 yards.
3. Adjustable gas ram within the TX200 action. Maybe you can have multiple Rams (one for 7.87 grain, one for 8.44 grains, one for 10.34 grains...for different wind conditions).

I added the Rowan cocking handle and trigger.

The hamster and the cheek riser can slide left/right a bit, and if ya want can be "cocked"/rotated a bit off the center line of the stock. I added the grip tape on the bottom of the hamster so itd stop sliding off the bag/knee pad/pants material. the buttpad is adjustable in 2 dimensions, and I think its in a good position for me in FT sitting position. the scope wheel I got from thingieverse, scaled it up (15% IIRC) to make it longer and the round end bigger. Also had to fiddle with the part that fits over the parallax knob on the Nightforce scope (8-32 with the Mil-XT reticle). Printed with a colorchange filament (its what was on the printer... didnt feel like changing it, as that some times forces a bed relevelling...). May put the eye cup back on.. had it one for a while, but I fight with it alot getting it aligned correctly. Eye cups are great when you get it setup correctly. HAs a ZR mount on it. Not sure it needs it, but that most Ive ever spent on a scope and not taking any chances...... Yes the angle indicator is "upside down". Meant for installation on the LEFT side of the scope, but the wheel is in the way, and it being on the right side of the gun doesn't affect its use.

I would love one of those LP stocks on one of my txs.

I e sent email after email wanting to order one from LP and not one response. Gary Chillingworth(spelling) said he thinks some is going on with them.

He was very responsive to my questions when I had them, accounting for time differences. I ended up not buying one because I couldn’t figure out why I would have to pay VAT in the US. I was planning to buy a sweet one that SC had on his site, but someone else here bought it, and then I put it aside to come back to at some other time.

Wow they most not like me because I just recently sent one a month ago and never heard back.

Imagine? did that and built it

TX200, in a Lucas Parsely stock with a Nightforce scope on top. Dead nuts action setting in whats to me very close to ergonomic perfection and a scope that has a great reticle and will resolve 1/2 distances.

Downside to such a setup is it shows how much I need to improve :)
wow I saw a guy shooting that exact set last week...

I have a 54 in .22 and love it. I have about 2000 rounds out of it. It was a 2.5 in. gun at 25 yards when I bought it used. Had John Thomas in Pa tune it which made it a sub 1 inch gun by a bit. Put Hectors tuner on it now is a 3/8 or better at 25 yards. .5 to .75 at 50 yards. Under 2 in at 100yds. Conditions very important and flags outdoors. I had a few scope issues until on Hectors advice I went to the Burris rings with inserts to negate the spring vibration. Scope issues ended with the rings and a Sightron STac scope. At 19.86 fpe it's a beast compared to my TX and 75s but a lot of fun. If I could only keep one it would be in the running because it's so good outdoors at distance. It could use a better trigger but they don't make a Jewel to fit it,lol. Indoors at 25 yds I have shot some tiny holes with it.
