OK
I have been shooting the H&N barracudas super 8s and with the zinc in them what can I use to clean the bore to get that out? I have ballistol that's it. Well not true I've got lots of bore cleaner for my powder burners which I'm pretty sure you don't put in an air rifle especially a PCP I don't know about my tx though.

Thanks
Jon

I guess it mostly separates / loosens the despots from the barrel so it can be easily brushed / patched out .

I shoot crosman hp's and all i use id walmart spray oil and bad cases spray engine degreaser ( supertec??). I dont shoot a aa but everyone has thete eays and things used off there cleaning experience. Some things i do i get a lot of the oh my god responces even though ive done it for many years without issue..

Me if i do somthing and turns out bad , well thats a ill know better next time thing , right? .lol

Im pretty crude .. no kids gloves so to say..

Unless pretty bad or new gun gunk its mostly hit the inside of barrel with the spray lube give a few sec to soak in and patch out till dry clean regular . Dont wait for a big build up . I average maybe 250- 500 shots then clean . Then thats just me.😉

I’m not sure about cleaning products either.

Chrono the gun before you clean. Get breech seals and piston seals ready in case they are needed.

Intermittent chrono post cleaning within one month (2?) to see if breech or piston seals fails.

Let us know which products if it fails.

OR

Test accuracy before cleaning with a dry brush or dry pull thru (no cleaning products)

Then test accuracy post (dry) cleaning.
If no change, I wouldn’t risk using a wet cleaner.

Ballistol is perfect to clean the barrel on a pellet rifle. I pull a few wet Ballistol patches and then a few dry patches until the gunk stops showing on the patches. Patchworm makes some awesome felt cleaning patches that work well with Ballistol.

The only time I clean a pellet barrel is when I notice a decline in accuracy. A few of my rifles have not been cleaned since the initial clean on purchase, springers and PCPs.

Powder Burners get cleaned after every range session with RemClean and brass brushes followed by patches. For the BT99 I use a bore snake soaked in RemClean. I use Red Dot for my shells, it burns pretty darn clean.

I usually use ballistol with a patchwork set up and it works great but never have tried it with the zinc.

Zinc is pretty hard stuff. I don't really expect to see it being deposited onto the bore of the barrel in your TX. Do you actually have an accuracy problem, or are you just reading stuff on the internet about it?

Personally if I have metal deposited in a barrel, I use a bronze brush to get it out. Otherwise I just waste a lot of time until I finally resort to the brush. And no, it won't hurt the barrel.
