EDgun Inherited some airguns. This Edgun I cant figure out!

Hello. I recently had a couple pellet guns passed down to me, one of them being an Edgun brand Leshiy 1(?) .22 The single shot with no magazine and a digital gauge.

This one was still boxed up however couldn't find any manual. I apologize but I know very little about these and its workings other than what I have been able to search briefly.
It did have about 190bar still in the tank so I found some pellets and gave it a go. Shot just fine. I got a friend with a pump and filled back up 3 or 4 times over the next few days and shot a bit more. It started getting odd POI changes that were not present on that first day (it was hole in hole that first day). Also need to mention after doing nothing other than refilling the tank, it shot very low that I could see the pellets lob out of the gun and hit the ground before the target. Nothing like it shot that first time. Almost like the more air I put in the slower it shot. Then once the air gets a little lower it ramps back up? Should be the other way around right? lol. Anyways I was able to borrow a friends paintball chrony and this is where I noticed large FPS gains/changes.
Here is an example. This was with 21gr weight pellets(all we had that day)
680
677
679
681
683
679
686
685
(Here is where FPS starts to really climb) Around 185 bar per the electric gauge
691
719
745 (165 BAR)
769
798 (159 BAR)
805
812 (143BAR)
796 (130BAR) Also got audibly louder at this point but less FPS?
773 (119BAR)

I ran out of those pellets and bought some lighter ones and did a repeat. Same thing. Lower FPS at the start
743-ish for the first 8 shots or so then went up every shot after that all the way to 902 at the end. If any of this information helps, I can tell you I counted the Hammer/velocity adjustment on the front at 20 clicks. I read counter-clock is more FPS and clockwise is lower? Any idea what is making it do this? Is it fixable? Am I doing something wrong? If there is any other useful info I can provide, Ill do my best. Thanks in advance for anyone's time. This is the only one out of the bunch that behaves like this. I may just end up selling half this stuff anyway but thought Id see if someone on an airgun forum could at least help!

Here is the instruction manual: https://www.edgunwest.com/edgun-manuals-edgun-west/#

Regarding the erratic FPS and noise levels, you might want to check to see if your gauge is fully operational. I'd imagine a low battery might lead to erratic readings. Is your digital gauge the same one as on the manual page?

Louder and less FPS indicates a possible air leak. Is it sealing properly? I haven't seen a Leshiy up close but there must be an o-ring between the plenum and the barrel.

It almost sounds like you don’t have a heavy enough hammer or enough preload on your hammer spring. During those first shots, the hammer may not be striking hard enough to open the valve all the way due to the closing force on the valve from the pressure in the tank. This could be due to a gauge error and you are overfilling or something wrong with the hammer and spring.

velocity climbs for a while as the tank pressure drops and the hammer is now able to knock the valve fully open.

Then velocity will begin to drop as the pressure decreases below what is needed to get those higher velocities.

Based on what you describe, I would start by tightening up the hammer spring and making sure there’s nothing wrong there.

Hope you figure it out…

Or you have a bad oring in the regulator and the gun is now unregulated. The reason I say this is because you hit your peak speed around 130b and that’s where the reg is probably set. So that tells me that’s where the hammer strike was set when the guns reg was working. If you want to keep it, replace all the orings inside the reg and tube. If you are the type that might make a mess of things and devalue the gun, just sell it and let the buyer know what’s going on. The money you will lose selling a gun that needs some orings is far less than you’ll lose selling a hacked up gun.

So as far as any leaks it would not appear that it had one at first glance. I'm pretty sure this (and the other guns) had not been shot in quite some time due to the family members rapidly declining health so the fact that it was still pressurized around 190b and sitting in its box for (I'd guess 8 months to a year) makes me think if there was a leak it would be an extremely small one. The guage seems to function fine and matches the pressure of the of the pumps when filling. Also yes that is the exact same menu presentation as the one on the gun.

Ok so increasing the hammer (turning it counter clockwise) I'll give that a go. I'll maybe do 2 or 3 clicks at a time and shoot it from a full fill down to 130-120b? As far as over filling. what is it supposed to be filled up to? Ive just been filling up to where the green zone goes on the pump. It's usually results in the gauge on the gun reading about 260-ish.

Thanks for that prognosis. Yeah I mean I'm a fairly technical person but as far as PCP airguns, these are some of the first I have ever shot so my knowledge on them is very limited at this point. Say this was the problem, I could buy a Oring kit somewhere for this gun? As far as getting in to the reg and all Id be afraid I monkey something up alot more than Id fix things haha. So your advice on informing a potential buyer who has more knowledge of the issue and having them know what they would be working with going into it I think is wise. Ill try and search youtube for a regulator repair on this gun and see how involved it is. Thank you for the help.

Thanks. Im going to try this today.

Hey let me ask you this...
Could it be possible that on the first day when I pulled it out of the box and shot, this oring was still intact and that would explain why it was basically putting shots on top of each other and performing "normal". Then somewhere along the line over the next few days of me filling it back up this oring failed either from filling or from shooting? As I mentioned in my reply to the other comment Im pretty sure this gun was sitting unused for close to a year due to the owners health. That may explain why randomly, after performing great, it all the sudden went south after not doing anything to the gun other than a tank refill.

Well I cranked the hammer spring to 26 clicks from the stating point Seemed to really make the back end shots pretty hot but still starting low and increasing on every subsequent shot. I also tried it at 5 clicks from zero for the heck of it. Maybe a tad bit more consistent but still eventually climbing. I'm guessing there has to have been an oring that failed somewhere in there as beertheif mentioned.

Ok thanks I will try to reach out. Is this like the main US dealer? Sorry this airgun stuff kind of got dropped in my lap unexpectedly . Always been a paintball/airsoft guy but at least some of the concepts transfers over . As far as who makes what and brands, models, etc, I'm flying a bit blind lol. Two of the other guns are a Crosman/Benjamin so I was at least semi-familiar with that brand haha.

This ^^^. I got one that was sat for over a year pressurized and it was the oring on the reg housing that was bad, allowing air to pass unregulated into the plenum. Very easy to fix.

It’s an oring failure. Don’t beat the hell out of the valve by cranking the hammer strike up. My Edgun Lelya has reg oring failures at random times. No rhyme or reason.

Pic of your regulator and plenum.. most likely the oring with the red arrow pointing at it. Could be as easy as relube, but if i tore it down i'd replace the orings with new.

Thank you! I watched some videos and seems easy enough to un screw the tank and pull this part out and swap that oring. Going deeper into the reg may be testing limits haha. I'll see if I can order one.
