Place to shoot, North West Oregon

More & more areas in the Tillamook forest are being closed to target shooting, suppose it's the way things are going in the state. Let me know if you know of any spot in the Banks, Forest Grove, Gales Creek area where I can practice HFT, I'm even willing to pay an annual lease fee for shooting rights on a piece of private land. Sure wish we could get a club going here somewhere. Thanks!

Here is what I'm shooting

Why are they closing public forests? Thats absurd. Its sad to see how screwed up my home state has become. The invasion up I5 has totally ruined it.
It's not the invasion up I 5, it's that a lot of the forest are owned by Private timber companies ,they are tired of all the trash being dumped on their properties but mainly the vandalizing of their equipment. Same go's for Washington State Forest, if you want to hunt on private timber companies lands you have to apply for a permit (most of them) then pay a fee yearly. Thanks too the disrespectful public, people shooting up trees, leaving trash, shooting without a proper backstop ect. I could on and on , other words just plain typical dip sh-t's. Nothing to blame but the people themselves. The only public forests are National forests and DNR lands and there is restrictions on them. They are closing in the walls everyday including fishing and hunting. No need for a ammo ban when you have nowhere too shoot or hunt.

I grew up in southern oregon in a timber community. I know how the lands work. Sadly a favorite swimming hole was closed because of the scumbags leaving all the trash. its sad and yet another reason I hate humans.

I never said that the forests are being closed & I didn't mention anything whatsoever about private timber companies, my exact words were "More & more areas in the Tillamook forest are being closed to target shooting". That is state land, nothing to do with private companies or trash. Roads leading North of 6 are being close to TARGET SHOOTING, period. They're putting in massive parking lots for hikers & mountain bikers, no more shooting. YES, this is part of the strategy to get rid of guns, they argue that if folks have no place to shoot they won't buy guns.

So by being closed to target shooting, they ARE closing public lands. That's absurd and they don't have the right nor authority to do so. Public lands are just that PUBLIC to use as long as we aren't destroying it which we aren't.

We will lose, we already are. They are concentrating us in to smaller & smaller spots where we can shoot, like the rock quarries. Due to higher density of shooters at these spots, coupled with no range officers & many irresponsible shooters, accidents are going to happen, which will make it easy for them to close the remaining spots down.
