Hey guys. This is a solid gun for $299. Regulated, side lever, 1/2 UNF, great fit and finish, and it shoots great too! Awesome value. The Generation 3 DAR in .22. Available at PY Air. Happy shooting! -Nate
The DAR Gen 3 has never come in .177 and if they haven't fixed the leaking problem (and I seriously doubt they have), then buy one ONLY if you like to track down leaks and replace O-rings.Hey guys. Same here I'm not sending a gun back just give or sell me the parts and I'll fix it myself. I know my new reg will not be a problem anymore but I'm not confident that something else won't break or leak. I love the gun but lets wait and see if any more problems pop upI have one in each of the 3 generations.
The gen 1 had several issues that I was able to remedy.
My gen 2 and 3 have each been great. The regulators work exceptionally well...can leave either one idle for a week and pick it up and put the first pellet into a chipmunk’s brain at 60 yards. The gen 2 finally developed a slow leak at the fill port after about 2.5 years of heavy use. No complaints there, I’ve worked on plenty of guns that cost 2x to 5x as much that leaked inside of that time frame. No issues at all with the gen 3 but of course it’s not that old.
With that said, I’d have to agree don’t buy one if you aren’t capable of doing your own service or know someone who can. For me, sending a gun back is more trouble than just fixing it myself but I realize that’s not the reality for most people.
Thanks nervoustrig. Your honesty is refreshing.I have one in each of the 3 generations.

Not surprised in the least. Should have returned to PA for a full refund.THESE DARs are A MESS!
I purchased a .25 Gen3 in June from Pyramid. Was so impressed that I also purchased a .22 Less than a week later. Within a few weeks of shooting the air leaks began. Pyramid said they don’t service the DARs and I should reach out to the distributor. Returned them (weeks apart) to AimSports in Ontario, CA and was sent new ones. Another leaker!! Sent back again. Now my .22 leaks again after 60ish shots.
The latest issue with the .25 was a non functioning regulator .. even sent them my 30 shot chronograph results which were typical of a non-regulated gun. They sent me a new one which so far hasn’t leaked but has funky velocity strings .. evidenced as vertical stringing at 50 yards.
The latest issue with the .22 is again leakage and so far they have given me no clue how to fix it and I’m done with the back and forth to California as it takes a week each way. (The leak evidences itself as bubbles from the muzzle or the breach when the barreled action is placed in a tub of water)
Please note: The folks at Aim Sports are very customer focused and I have appreciated their efforts but they cannot remedy what is a clearly inferior product.
The video was very helpful in how to gain access to the regulator adjustment but I’d appreciate some counsel relative to further takedown. At this point I’m wondering if simply removing the reg all together would be a solution? Thanks in advance for your help.
