I have 2 Discovery scopes, a 6-24x50 and a 8-32x50. Have used both on 12 foot pound springers and pcps. Never had an issue. Glass is fairly clear, not sure l would trust them to "click" with but good solid scopes. Have owned several UTG swat and same as Discovery scopes. Has anyone been able to kill a Discovery or UTG scope?

Never tried a Discovery but I've heard of them dying quite a bit. None of my UTGs have failed either but once again, heard of them failing. All of mine are shimmed to at least ball park optically centered so I'm sure that helps some. As far as clicking goes, I wouldn't trust them at all. I usually dial them in and then leave them alone.

A good point on keeping them optically centered. I use Burris signature zee rings, drooped mounts or Sportsmatch fully adjustable rings to stay optically centered. Don

I have many UTG 3x12x44 and 4x16x44 (30mm) with glass etched reticles. These are the compact versions, so far have not had one fail on my Weihrauch Springers. I use them on R9/R10/HW95/HW80S and HW80SLK. Very fine SFP reticle - these were purchased on Dvor for $150/$175. Now it looks like they're going for $225/$250.

I would bend barrels where possible in lieu of shimming scopes. Shims can dent scope tubes on Springers when torqued down.

I'm sure there are limits to how far you can go but the 50 MOA that even my most downward pointed barrels seem to have hasn't been enough to cause a single issue

I've got a UTG 3-9x32 AO Bug Buster on my HW50S. Over 2000 rounds and no problems. I've got it sighted in at 30 yds. I prefer to set it and forget it, so I locked the windage and elevation knobs and I just use the mil-dots for holdover.

I bent one barrel but didn't like how bad it looks, kinda curved to the right and bowed up. I realize bending is free but, for me, I'll just bite the bullet and buy a 17.00 UTG drooper mount and enjoy my straight looking barrel. I have also used Burris signature zee rings and Sportsmatch rings to keep my scopes optically zeroed. Not to keen on shimming a 500.00 to 1000.00 scope to save 50.00 to 150.00 dollars but risking damaging the scope. Doesn't make sense to me but as the commercial says " it's your money, use it how you want" .

I use the drooper mounts and Burris rings too on nicer scopes. Cheap scopes get the cheap fix.

The Drooper is nice to use. Its soooooo ugly though. I can't put it on any pretty guns. I usually opt for the DTW-145 because its a little more streamline. Its ashame that one doesn't have 30 moa built in too

Yeah, you don't want to go overboard on barrel bending. I've only got one that drooped so much U can actually see the cure upwards if U look closely.
Things is U see it .... nobody else will notice ......

I have these on a PCP and so far I am very impressed for the price.
I have Monstrum rings on most of my airguns.

SpiralGroove, my HW50 barrel was so bad Stevie Wonder could see the bend from across the room. The barrel shot 22" low and about 14" left. jusanothajoe, l think that set of rings will work on my HW50 with new barrel. It is good left to right. My favorite adjustable rings are the Sportsmatch fully adjustable ones that fit the 11mm rail but the price is kinda steep, 150.00.

The small sample of Discovery scopes I encountered, they did not do much for me. Maybe I didn't give them enough of a chance, but I just could not get in sync with them.

Discovery can be good, the higher-end models,they are all heavy.
There are lighter scopes that are better for the same price.
As far as dropper mounts, some brands of springers seem to all need them.
Even my RWS52 needs a Drooper mount and it has a straight barrel.

I am a big fan of the Discovery scopes. I have several of their high end models. All are great value for money and in my experience, as good as any I have used.
