I am new to guns. Where is a good place to start learning about springers vs PCP etc? Have an armadillo that has made a mess of my yard.

Youtube is your friend. Find a model you are interested in and watch some videos. This guy has some good information on the HW95. The HW95 is a "Buy once, cry once" rifle. One and done. YMMV.

Checking out Matt Dubber's video series, "Air Gun Ballistics,101," was a great recommendation I received when starting out. Nine, or ten, short, easy to follow videos gave me a leg up on the hobby. Should be able to find on YouTube. WM

Guns are a lot of fun and the right one will definitely fix the armadillo problem and bring you hours of enjoyment target shooting too!
I love my PCP guns but I also really enjoy my springers too.

With an Armadillos tough outer shell, I would recommend a PCP versus a Springer. In most cases, the PCP will give you more power to humanely dispatch the Armadillo versus just wounding it and having it disappear.
I’ve trapped / shot ~ 60 Armadillos and they are tough.
I also understand your frustration with them ruining a lawn.

Springer. Buy , cock , load , shoot repeat, all day.. overhead cost- another tin of pellets ( as said more a buy once cry once)
Pcp. Buy , buy support equipment that could cost more then another gun , hope it works and fills and don't leak just to get to shoot it every 20-50 shots . If not or fails in time buy another guns worth of support equipment . ( pcp .. "p"ay "c"ontinue "p"aying..
Oh and you still need the pellets..

Live trap. I have trapped and relocated 10 armadillo’s this summer. No reason to destroy them.

I suggest a used Benjamin Marauder .25 for the PCP option. Inexpensive, relatively easy to hand pump to 3000 psi and two mags per fill. Perhaps a PCP might be needed for this quarry. Traps sound like a good idea. Do not touch them, they are a leprosy carrier!

Have you considered getting some training? Learning how to use a tool is important. You'll be both a better and safer shooter afterword.

If you want quick and easy go PCP. Very expensive if you go top shelf. If you want to learn a new skill, be amazed at the accuracy, and have a lot of inexpensive fun start off with a quality fixed barrel springer and learn to shoot it. Videos, I have watched a lot, A few good ones but most of them the guys could not compete at our local matches . The only experience I have with arnadillos is driving thru Arkansas. I would think a baseball bat would work. I started with a TX200, HW 97s are very good. My Diana 54 is becoming my favorite. On UTube watch Gary Chillingworths videos from England on springers. Like all the shooting sports you will get out of it what you put into it.
