Looking to Iguana Hunt in Davie Florida: Questions for a Local

Morning! I’ve been following the forum for awhile but wanted to create an account today as there’s multiple threads out there regarding iguana hunting but I still had open questions so hopefully this can consolidate. (If someone already has done this it please share!)

My friend and I live in Miami and would be interested in going up to Davie area with someone who’s done it before or can reccomend a place to go as I already have the gear for it as I’ve been hunting for years in Wisconsin but recently moved to Florida.

• For Guided option any recommendations
• Public places to hunt around Miami or Davie area?
• What are the best months to hunt iguana
• What is best time of day
• What air rifle is acceptable? I have a Umarex Ruger 10/22 and Ruger Blackhawk
• Any additional gear reccomended? I saw some people added lasers to there guns for iguana hunting. Has anyone heard or done this? Hunting with a laser from my understanding is normally prohibited.

Good Evening, I am also looking for a location in the Fort Lauderdale - Davie area to hunt iguanas. I have all equipment just looking for a safe place to shoot where I wont get pulled up on by police or worried pedestrians. If you have any recommendations it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Ehh I couldn't tell you in Dania since I dont cover that area personally, what I can tell you is to look up what the local ordinances say for pellet gun use in public areas. Call the local LEO and give them a description of yourself and those with you, the equipment that you're using, as well as start and end time. Canals are usually a good place but the water management companys are cracking down on anyone shooting in and on the canal because of people just shooting iguanas in heaby traffic and cars getting hit with ricochets or actually getting hit.

I was told that the canal between Griffin Rd and Orange dr on the Davie/Copper City line is a good spot. But want to make sure its legal I have orange vests and orange tape for my air gun barrel. I am gonna contact local authorities to make sure they are aware. I've hunted my whole life and not worried about aim but don't want to upset anyone.
