FX Just ordered Impact .25! Pellet recommendations?

Hello, much more experienced airgunners!

I just ordered an Impact M3 in .25, and I’m curious as to the forum dwellers thoughts on pellets to try. I’m hoping to plink and pest at up to 100 yards quietly. Maybe someday I’ll play with slugs, but for now I just wanna plink. What’s a good pellet to start off with?

JSB Redesigns are a pretty common go to here. I love them myself. I prefer the 34 grain version.

Give a try to the H&N Baracudas 28.4 and 31.02.....

My Panthera shoot them better than JSB's.

My FX 25 likes the H&N Baracuda Hunter, 27.47gr hollow points for pesting.

All the usual go to ones. JSB and FX are always winners. 25 gr and 34 gr all shoot great in mine.

Thanks again, all. Using pellets, what kind of accuracy are you getting? How far can you hit something like a clay pigeon? Some day I’d like to go to slugs and longer distances but I’m taking this one expensive step at a time.

Without wind at all, you should hit 3 out of 10 shots at 220 yards.

Ethical distance to hunt, vary on your accuracy and how sure you are not just to wound.

I've shot pigeons off the rooftops at 100 yards and I'm sure it can group better than I can hold . Usually 1.5 to 2 inch group at 100 yards

Taipan Veteran Long shoots both the same, M3 Sniper, Gauntlet and Uragan couldn't group them. WM

Yesterday, I just shot under MOA 13 shot group at 50 yards with FX purples (=JSB 33.95gr). So they group very well, with good tune.

I have FX maverick .25 with superior 600mm liner and with it I shoot those FX/JSB pellets 900fps, with spread of 7 fps and STD of 2.2. With exactly same tune/settings it will shoot 30gr H&N slugs 930fps with similar spread/std, but slugs itself are not as accurate as those pellets.

I'm pretty sure those are rebranded JSB Hades. I bought a tin recently......I'm not a big fan of something that light since my rifle is multi-pesting.
They do fly nice though and am sure they'll perform great on smaller game.

What’s the best place to get the pellets? I bought the first can at Amazon and they’re about 10 cents each ($34 for 350). Seems a bit high to me, but maybe that’s just something I need to accept. Who has the best prices?

Pyramid air is the best place I have found the jsb pellets are $22 each and if you buy 3 you get 1 free so always add multiples of 4 to your cart and if you spend over $150 you get free shipping and to top it all off they are very good about packing them up well and they ate quick to get them shipped out hope this helps
