Another fun (but cold) day on the range. Wind was pretty steady out of my 4-5 o’clock with not too much variation so the groups stayed consistent pushing down and left. JSB 15.89’s at 680fps.
It’s basically a Frankenstein rifle. Started its life as a Beeman R9 in .177. I put it in an HW98 stock with a .22 barrel so now it’s my Beeman R98. Just my little twist on wordplayWow, is the Beeman R98 the same thing as the HW98?
Nice shooting, I bet the 75 yard was fun. Are you shooting off a bench or what is your method?Another fun (but cold) day on the range. Wind was pretty steady out of my 4-5 o’clock with not too much variation so the groups stayed consistent pushing down and left. JSB 15.89’s at 680fps.

I think the Beeman is a R11, HW is the 98.Wow, is the Beeman R98 the same thing as the HW98?
Whats up Crow! I’m not sure which kit is in this one, I have another R9 as well still wearing its factory stock. I know one has a Vortek, the other an ARH. Both are within 10-20 fps with the JSB 15’s and FTT’s. I’ll pull the stock off tomorrow and get back to you on which is in this one. I can say for some reason this HW98 barrel loves the Hades as well and pushes them close to 700fps. 30 yard accuracy is as good as the standard 15’s but out at 50 they spread a little more. If I shot at critters I’d be more than comfortable taking a 40 yard headshot with themSean , that is awesome shooting. Sweet modifications.
I have the Weihrauch version. Love shooting this gun. Only thing mine is shooting the 15.89’s approx. 100 fps. slower.
Which spring set did you use?
Crow
You are correct with the Beeman R11 being the HW98 counterpart. And yes sir shooting off a bench, rear support in the shoulder with a front bag with my hand between it and the rifle. Not open palm artillery hold but an actual grip on the forestock.Nice shooting, I bet the 75 yard was fun. Are you shooting off a bench or what is your method?
Thanks. Superb break barrel. CrowWhats up Crow! I’m not sure which kit is in this one, I have another R9 as well still wearing its factory stock. I know one has a Vortek, the other an ARH.
