HW/Weihrauch Newer Style Stocks..barf!!

I kinda like some of the new styles. Not all but some. The thing I don’t care for is the branding on the stock. I’d prefer just the wood and the checkering, no brands. Keep the makers mark discreetly on the steel.

Meh, keeps things fresh in the eyes of the manufacturer. I generally prefer the older style stocks which a few notable exceptions, particularly the HW80 SL.

Personally, my bigger gripe is that the combs have been getting higher which is fine for optics but makes using open sights uncomfortable if not impossible.

Question on those wilkins pellet pouches, I see you have a big one and a little one, which do you like better, or use the most?
I keep .22 cal in the big one and .177 in the two smalls. I wish they had one right in the middle of the two sizes.

If I am single loading only and had to pick one size I would go with the small. The larger one is a little deep for fishing .177 cal pellets out of. For .22 and up it’s easier because of the lager pellet and the larger opening of the pouch. The small is fine but the opening is a bit tight sometimes. Either size you choose takes some getting used to. I really do think a medium would be the perfect size . If you want to carry standard sized extra magazines I’d go with the large.

Thanks. I have no magazines for pellet rifles, just piston guns is what I shoot. I use this right now, and it works

but I've been wanting to try a Wilkins. They just look more springer like..lol, and green is my color.
I could probably make the small one work.

The Wilkins pouches are classic to me, that’s what I like about them. I also have that same Crosman pouch. I never thought of putting a neck lanyard on it. Great idea!

I have one of these and I really like it. I wear it on my belt.

I agree the new stocks are a step backwards in style. I would own an HW50, an HW77, and probably a second HW35 if they were the older style without cutaways and names branded into the checkering. I have the HW30 deluxe from AoA with checkering and the name carved into the stock. I always sigh a little when I see the name in the wood, but I forget about it when I see the tight groups it produces. I am thankful to have a 35E with the groove.

Maybe someday they'll go 'retro' and do a run of the old stocks and stamped model numbers on the breech. I can dream...
