hey fellas, just got my 22 cal avenger pup set up for the JSB 25.4gr pellets at 830 fps with an insane tight extreme spread. however, 830 fps is the most and I mean absolute most I can get out of the gun. totally fine with that, plenty of power and accuracy for what Im using the gun for, but is that about what you guys are getting? I feel like ive seen higher FPS with this gun and those pellets. there's nothing wrong with my gun in terms of hammer spring or reg issues, I am shooting at about 40 degrees F so maybe that has something to do with it, again, perfectly happy with the 830 fps, just curious

at that time I had it reg'ed at about 2600 psi, I didn't notice much difference in velocities going any higher on the reg pressure. I shot it today and retuned the gun to shoot the 18.1gr at 913 FPS (random number but it shot 4 dupes in a row)

Likely limitation of the hammer spring and/or porting, I am not versed on Avengers but tweaking either should net more FPS.

I have one but it is set up shooting JSB’s 18’s at 900 fps right now. If I get bored I’ll tune it to Shoot JSB 25.39’s at 900 fps and let you know how I did it.

The plenum is pretty small on the Avenger, I would stay with the 18.1

You can add a plenum also:

This is an oversized plenum for the AirVenturi Avenger in all forms. Fitment is straight forward but the stock will have to be cut or clearanced in order for the plenum to fit into or through the stock. My .25 Avenger with this same 10cc plenum is currently shooting 29 grain slugs at 990 fps...

Check the movement of the hammer. Make sure it moves freely. Also check the hammer spring. I have the avenger older brother liberty. The HS in it lost some of it strength and the hammer wouldn't move very good which killed the power. My liberty is capable of putting out 52 fpe but I've modified the heck out of it including a 18cc plenum.

I just set it up at 2550 psi on the reg shooting JSB 25.39's at 895 fps with the HS turned almost all the way in. Very consistent SD. I'll shoot it tomorrow and see how it works out in real life at 50.

I haven't posted anything but have read a lot of your posts. I've been playing with my 22 cal Avenger and really enjoying it. I polished the barrel and
stabilized it with centering ring, opened the transfer port in the barrel, added a 19 cc plenum which brought it up to 32 or 33 cc, added a 580 bottle and a donnie Ryu. My last test was with H&N
21.14s which i weighed and sorted. The last group weighed 21.25. Reg set at 2100 HS 21/2 turns 904 fps 1/2 inch group at 40 yards no fliers . Just got some AEA 21.90 to try at the current setting. Also would like to try ths JST dead center 21s and 22s. Has anyone been able to try the new JSB 20. 53 jumbo lights. Keep up the good posts guys, Thanks

just finisned field test on AEA 21.90. Wow, these are some great pellets. Weighed and sorted starting at 22.00, .02, .04 .06. 08, .10, .12. lightest pellet was 21.99 and heaviest was 22.14. Combined the .02 and .04s, 2100 on the reg, 3 turns on the HS, fps 899- 906. multiple groups 1/4 to 3/8 on center at 40 yards. I thing i,ve found my go to pellet. can't wait to try the 25.39s.
