GX-CS4 $529/$477 with discount code

Quality usually cost money. How do you think they manage to sell a compressor with that performance level for $500? Corners have to be cut somewhere! There are many power supplies you can buy on Amazon eBay or AliExpress that are from China for much lower price. However I don't believe the quality will be much better than what was already shipped with a compressor. I will run mine with the power supply that came with until it dies and then figure something else out. Hooking it up to car batteries won't work for very long without the engine running or your battery will be dead. Besides without your car running with a 30 amp load you'll be lucky if your car battery puts out at 12 volts . The power supply coming with the compressor puts out over 13.5 volts. If you don't mind running your car while you're using your compressor that's a viable option.

Reasonable cost to HPA unit price to me
By no means am I recommending this unit because I don't have one. I was simply trying to show that there are lower cost options IF the GX-CS4 OEM power supply fails.

Also, note that the unit I listed comes in 3 versions from $49, $59 and $89 depending on the peak wattage/amps required.

All my best!

Remember I said that.

I will. I have a neighbor who has been using the PS for over two years now, and other than an early-on failure (burnt circuit with a free replacement from Amazon), it has been working just fine.

The 750W PS that @BackStop posted would handle the CS 4 with plenty of room to spare, IMO, for anyone who happens to lose their home or their PS fails prematurely.

Gamble then with equipment that's not listed. Insurance will have a laugh.

As with all questionable products it best to prudent and cautious when using them. Don't place the PS on near or on flammable materials. If it goes up in smoke the metal case should contain the fire to a small area. When I 1st pumped up to what I thought was 260 bar I hid around a wall after turning it on. If the compressor grenades I hope the sheet metal case will contain the shrapnel.

These low cost PS should work fine as long as you are willing to accept shorter possibly shorter lifespan, more noise, poorer regulation, most of which doesn't matter for powering a DC motor. the reason I suggested the higher priced PS is that the person was asking about a higher quality PS.

Copy and paste links are so long because they contain tracking info tack on the the end.

Yes, using any of these units I am at the ready. None of these low cost units are "set-and-forget". Always in attendance while using. Common sense

Just a FYI, the OEM power supply that comes with the CS4 is not UL (Underwriters laboratory) listed.

What that means is? UL is not the end-all-beat-all for testing, although it is a "standard" of sorts.

It just isn't the ULTIMATE test that some people want to make it out to be.

Chances are VERY high that you already have MANY electrical devices in your home, car, etc, that are not listed/rated by UL.

Ever checked to see if your "smart phone" and charger is UL listed? (chuckle)

Any time you are working with long links from Amazon, YT, etc., look for the word "/ref" and you can typically delete ev everything that follows. I always test said shortened link before posting, as it's not 100% for every link.
Thanks! I think I used to know this stuff, but after a "mild" heart attack recently, apparently it affected my memory.

Is it reasonable thinking, to plan on getting 50 fills before encountering major parts problems with a gx-cs4, or any other small compressor like this?
(88/98 c.f. tank, from 2500psi to 4500psi).
Im great with maintence, oil changes, and keeping an eye on temperatures while running.
Is that reasonable thinking, or perhaps way too optimistic?
The CS4 is supposed to be capable of up to 4.5 hours of continuous usage. However, I don't have any tanks and only fill relatively small capacity airguns, so hopefully those with the CS4 that fill tanks will jump in and give you more and better help.

One thing I can say with some confidence is the CS4 will do fine if you only top off tanks and don't let them get too low before topping off.

Yeah, I am no real help... but I do try! (smile)

Sorry to hear it affected your memory. In an attempt to help you out, just a gentle reminder that your previous monthly direct deposit into my bank account of $250 seems to have stopped. If you could start that up again, it would be swell... 😇😇

And don't kid yourself, you ARE a help!!

My memory isn't THAT bad... Seems that your (laundered) $1500 transfer into my account stopped before it began! LOL! (chuckle)

Thanks!

Unless you picked up a blue light special cell phone charger, it's listed and has to be.
