You are also being hunted...

Ripped this ugly little jerk out of my leg this morning. Probably the 4th 1 I have found in the last week between me and the dog. Looks like they are out in force this year. Got myself a full week of doxicyclene for lyme/tularemia potential with the bright red ring around the bite. Be careful outside.

UGH My fiance suffers from long term lyme exposure. Local news says the ticks are out in force already. We had a mild winter so I'm not surprised. She also found a tick already this season. Luckily, it hadn't latched on to either of us yet. We treat the lawn but we're surrounded by woods so there's not too much we can do about that. We've given thought to hiring someone that specializes in tick extermination but we haven't pursued it.

A friend of our contracted Lyme going for a Christmas tree here in CA. Way back when they didn't know what it was or how to treat is, her life has been a living H#LL, for over 20 years, severe neurological damage.

I don’t enter the rich environment these little sob’s hang in, but always self conscience about them. Overlap socks on pants and pick them off when they hit my neck or spotted on my shirts/ pants. Fry them with a lighter or crush them with a pointed metal instrument AKA screwdriver or similar. Always check my ugly, out of shape bod, anytime I hit any wilderness tree line, , GO POSSUM! Lol!

@gendoc Is right, possums can eat about 5k ticks per season. They aren't much of a bother in urban areas so unless they're messing with people we let them go if they fall in our traps.

Possums always get a pass around our house. We wrap the ticks up in tape so they can't get away and die

Same story here. It's been prolly 30yrs since she got bit. She's in pain every day and who knows how much the Lyme contributed to other health issues. Those tiny SOBs are pure hell.

We used to get a lot of brown ticks on us at our property ( woods and brushy fields) until we bought Insect Shield clothes 2 years ago. I found 3 on me at once on day. We also have lots of deer so I assume there are deer ticks too.Since then we haven't found any on us. They are soaked in permethrin and can be washed up to 70 times. Then you retreat them. They have socks, shirts, tshirts coats, hats, pants and many other things. They have worked great for the wife and I.

This stuff works well. Used it all last year. Sprayed my boots and legs each time I walked out to do target maintenance. Did not encounter a single tick. Doesn't smell like DEET. I have already ordered another bottle.
