Other Hy-Score 814 Junior --- Anyone Ever Own One Of These?

When I was a kid in the mid 60's I saw these for sale in a local dept store. Never owned one but was intrigued. It had a telescoping barrel and was spring powered, I believe.
Anyone have any experience with these ?

I believe it a Diana Mod 2, rebranded and imported by Hy-Score of New York.

Here are some of mine. Folk sometimes think they're "inertia" pistols, they're not, the barrel has a piston around it & there are two holes in the back of the barrel through which the air is forced.

I owned a Diana model 2 for a while. It's the best-made and most nicely finished "gat" pistol I've ever seen, and a worthy collectible. The design is fascinatingly minimalist; as bsahogger described, basically the barrel, piston, spring guide, sear, and transfer port are all the same part!

But it's a mystery to me that this class of air pistol was once so popular! My model 2 was spectacularly difficult to cock, clumsy to load, had no accuracy whatsoever, and purty sure I can throw a pellet harder than it could shoot it.

Is the body of the Schmidt polymer if some sort and the loading port screws out the back of the gun/barrel? That looks like one I had for sure, got it mail order.

I think mine is die cast metal, I'll have to get it out again & double check. Yes little loading screw at the back.
