X-Sight 4K Pro questions

I have this scope mounted on an FX Impact M4 Sniper .22 cal.

It will not record either normal videos or RAV's (recoil activated video).

When I try to record a video, the red icon displays in the upper left corner of the viewfinder but the counter that's supposed to show up in the lower right corner doesn't appear. After I stop the recording and go to Gallery, there are no videos.

The local retailer said a PCP may not create enough recoil or sound to activate the shot videos. ATN's site doesn't mention any limitations to RAV.

Another issue - firmware.

Mine came with version .511 installed. ATN's web site's latest version is .510. I'm confused!

Thanks for the help.

I have two of these ... While no pro using them, my findings would be ...
Not enough RECOIL or Noise to activate auto recording used on an air rifle.
* Do you have a Micro SD card installed ?
Firmware ... see that as obviously factory is installing there latest and not made it available to download at this juncture ?
Motorhead, thanks for that.

When you say "no pro" do you mean you don't have the IR illuninator?

Are you using either of yours on a PCP and do they record shots?

My micro sd is a SanDisk Ultra 16GB HC. I can take pictures, and they show up in the Gallery, but no videos.

Do either of your take videos?

I sent ATN an email through their website about this issue but am waiting to hear back from them.

Thanks again.

If you read my above post you would know I had an sd card installed.

I returned this scope yesterday.
Don’t blame you. For as pricey as the digital scopes are sink that same money into regular really good glass. You will be glad unless you really plan on shooting at night a lot. 400-700 dollar glass will blow digital out of the water in clarity.

Well...
I totally agree with you about clarity. Another hobby is photography and I understand about good glass. Right now I've got a reflex sight on the M4 and it's maybe one step up from iron sights. Still fun though as I have to be super steady with it.

However...

I'm particular about my reticle and I've not found one that I like. I've looked at $2k glass, very good scopes, but I didn't like the reticle. I like the center to be open with a single dot and, ideally, a ring around it or crosshairs emanating from it. Very hard to find a glass scope with that type of reticle.

Camera scopes usually have those reticles, and in several colors and brightnesses... plus several others to choose from.

So for now I'm going to stick with a camera, less clarity for sure though.

I've got a DNT ZULUS HD 5-20X Digital Night Vision Scope with Laser Rangefinder and Ballistic Calculator on order. I watched videos of this scope in action and they blew me away. You can laser your target and it will couple with your ballistic info and give you an immediate hold over on the reticle... that's impressive to me.

It could be more of a toy rather than a scope but it certainly will have a huge fun factor. ;)

Thanks for your reply.
