I don't know if this will help anyone, but I ran across this in an ad from the CMP. It is listed under Shooting Equipment not Ammo. I believe that you must have a CMP account or a competitor number to purchase from them.​

Description​

Merlin/Vogel match pellets manufactured by Vogel. 500 pellets to a plastic case - 10 plastic cases to a sleeve = 5000 pellets total.

If I remember correctly, there was some question on TargetTalk.com regarding Vogel pellets. Something to the effect of a widely-observed change in accuracy for the worse.

This may have been 2-3 years ago. Possibly something changed in manufacturing process.

Although I suppose this is all relative to the ability of the marksman, though

I have no idea. I just saw it on CMP and thought it may help one of us out. I do know that the CMP has massive quantities of ammo used in matches on hand, so if a problem developed, they still need to get rid of it somehow.

When I shot competitively, I was given a bunch of Eley .22 LR to practice with. It was supposed to be the best, but I hated it because it was so gummy. Snotty would be the better term since it was slathered in a creamy wax goo. CMP had a ton of it and my opinion alone wasn't the deciding factor on it's quality.

I don't know. I gave up with them because last time I tried, they would only receive orders via FAX. Why not internet? Ridiculous.

I had to do that when I ordered a bunch of 853s. I thought that was wierd as well. But the check was sent somewheres else. Not my local CMP.

Probably went to Ohio by Camp Perry. Once they started letting Dealers buy the rifles, I stopped dealing with them
