Gamo NP Gamo mods

If you have a hollow stock, you can fill it with various materials to dampen sound/vibration and/or rebalance the rifle. Rags are light weight, easy to remove, plumbers putty can be used to add weight & dampen sound (recommend putting into a bag, then into rifle stock), pure silicon caulk (use the clear stuff) can be used also (takes forever to fully cure), even mix in steel shot for added weight and lastly (the most permanent)... Epoxy.

The piston could be buttoned... I've yet to do this on any springer though. Custom guide & top hat for spring variant (non-gas ram) can be made up.

One could remove factory lubes and switch to fancy stuff (ultimox or that other one I can't remember 😅)

Switch to ARH or Vortek seal, not necessarily an upgrade but they're available in 25mm (standard action). For the "33mm" guns (29mm i.d.) Custom Air Seals of Australia (I think their name is) has seals available.

Add thread locker to your stock screws if needed. Also adding the Gamo raiser to scope rail can potentially save your stop pin hole from wear. I've seen them elongate. There are two raiser versions, one is just a raiser and the other supposedly reduces scope recoil... I run a one piece mount that seems to do well enough, but I cycle through many airguns to reduce wear & tear.

Lastly, the MOST important thing for ANY piston gun... Shoot it and enjoy!

Vortek was teasing with a "Bionic Piston & seal". It looked interesting & was briefly advertised on their website. These were going to be for the Magnum Gamo guns 33mm too.
There's 2 kinds I guess of the 33mm you tell by what color your guns is . I think blue is common 33mm and yellow(???) was magnum guns don't know what or why 2 unless the piston button/ anvil part they attach to is different (???) being for some reason no one want to offer the seals outside buying from custon air seals Australia .

I think gamo must start legal action to anyone who tries to make aftermarket parts for there gun like a run of the mill seal ..

Gamos definitely not a user fix friendly gun . Unless it's a widky tebranded modke like the old 440

Other than the trigger mod, either longer screw or Charlie daTuna trigger, and a better scope,
what mods made your nitro piston Gamo a better rifle?

I should have started with... What do you want out of your air rifle?

"Better" can mean different things to different people. Do you want more accuracy? Less hold sensitivity? More flashy components? A built-in snack bar? 😜

You can change certain characteristics of any airgun... Whether or not it makes it better is subjective. Pellet choice and user skill will have the biggest effects on accuracy. For less hold sensitivity you can reduce power/add weight or just work on springer skills. A wood stock may have better balance, a synthetic stock may be better in certain environmental conditions. It can go on and on...

The obvious question was : what have you done to make the gun better for yourself! I would decide if is worth the trouble. Some mods are worth getting into for some people, but for some are not. A simple exemple is the Charlie daTuna trigger mode. Is an alloy trigger, and sure is better than a plastic one that wears out. But is $60, and it does just as much as a simple longer screw in the trigger, that is under $1. IMHO. One can decide what is better for themself!
For a Gamo gun there is room for a lot of improvement. A simple alloy trigger guard would be better than the plastic one. A different shape/size piston can make differences. There are parts that are available, but not everybody knows. and who has them. That is why I posted this thread.
And yes, a built in snack bar would be nice to have a beer fridge as well! :)

Have finished the piston mode was working on. Is much closer to diameter than factory
piston. And much lighter. Better inside lead for the ram rod. And since i was at it, changed the seal to a Weihrauch style. During the testing process, tend to believe may have damaged the gas ram by hitting the bottom. Can not tell, since the results are with the new piston. Still consistent, though. Have ordered a new ram that is 10% stronger than factory ram. Be some time before it gets here. Has anybody replaced the gas ram with a custom one?
