Daystate Delta / Alpha wolf misleading marketing or?

Just got my Delta Wolf Performance fac .177.

I bought it to have a rifle that shoots most of it all and that are easy to change ammunition by just clicking the computer. I own a BRK Ghost and wanted to get rid of the mechanical adjusting when changing pellets/slugs

Due to the marketing:
Select caliber
Select barrel length
Select pellet weight
Select fps
And the software will do the rest....

Problem is that the software only has 13.42g and 15.89g pellets loaded in .177 - which means you are limited to this if you want the software/chrono reading to adjust fps by it self / use the rifle as marketed.
Advanced mode doesnt give the fps select option. Advanced mode works like a normal adjustable pcp where you digital set the speed (Volt) and weight (dwell time) of the hammer.

This rifle is a masterpiece in the software - but the software is limited to two pellets weights in .177.
For this price and for how is being marketed - there should be way more options in the factory set!

Daystate should state this so buyers are aware of this. I was expecting to have the opportunity to select the most common ammonition for .177. At least weigth JSB 10.34g, 13.43g, 16g, JSB KO 10.03g, 13.43g and some H&N and/or Zan.

I hope they will release more factory sets to upload in the rifle

There are workarounds but I do agree with you; for the money and the tech that is there, it’d be a rather simple and very usable option to have many, many more pellet options.

In my thinking, it's sooo short sighted on Daystate's part to NOT provide as many known pellet weights and other variables into their onboard firmware / software. I mean why not? Certainly not going to overload the system.
I refer to this lack of mfg input as laxadaisical (lazy) on the Tech / Testing R and D side of the house. @Daystate
i most certainly expect to do a lot of the thinking and turning on my BRK Ghost, rightly so... but for the FLAGSHIP Alpha and Delta Wolf ???

It's locked? So you need to spend an extra $250-$450 hundred dollars on the programmer to unlock?
No.. Ill try to explain in another way. My english isnt that good. The setting you are entering is "locked" - meaning that the software will not compensate for a bit lower regulator pressure or weather conditions. You have to do that manually you self by making a new program every time you need a small change. The factory set will calculate the small changes it self so you always have the correct fps.

I own the Ghost. I hoped the dw would make pellet change easier. It doesnt... It would if there were more factory sets.

Gotcha! Your English is just fine, I just assumed there would be a pay wall before unlocking the feature. The same way a lot of gaming tech is now a days. Still, that's a pita.

If i was making such a rifle, i would also provide a comprehensive database for all the pellets and slugs out there, well at least commercial available ones.
So in my case you could just load up the profile you wanted, and then the ammo you want to be shooting, and done deal, happy shooting.

PS  The town msg1979 live in, Middelfart, it translate to middle or average speed, though The Simpsons have played on the Danish word Fart ( speed ) in a episode. With Home spotting a sign saying Fart kontrol warning there is a fixed speed camera up ahead.

Pretty sure if you just select the pre loaded pellet closest to what you are using it will still do what it does. May take an extra shot or two but it will still find the speed you set.
Well yes and no. The performance is a beast in power. If I load it witha 10.44g pellet and set in factory set 13.42g it gives me over 1050ps and will not adjust. It can only adjust within 100fps

Yeah i was thinking you got to be able to mod those preset settings, by pressing buttons not something elaborate.

@SorenDrost would know i assume, only Danish AGer i know that is handling these expensive English weapons.
Yes. I'm allready i touch wkth him. This thread is just so ppl know. For me its bad marketing from daystate. I was dissapointed when turning it on. 2 pellet types...wtf?!

And I surely hope the regulator settles. If reservoir is 240bar and reg is set to 160bar - the regulator pressure drops to 150bar when reservoir is 180bar. So advanced setting is not usable since it cannot comæensate for that drop. Regulator maybe need a burn in time.

Ill buy the data cable and start the factory programmering my self

I sympathize with your feelings on this...
I was involved in the early testing of these and there were very few entries in the table for various pellets. At one point we had "light", "medium ", and "heavy". The main point here is that SOMEONE has to create those tables that it uses for first shot velocity estimation. It's not difficult but can be considered time consuming. Obviously, no one did a comprehensive job there...
Also, I'm pretty sure the original software designer is deceased. We were supposed to have a personal device app for interface with the rifle... that was promised years ago... The bluetooth hardware is there... I still have the email detailing the GUI for it... doesn't look like that will happen...
I've created a few for my own use and I believe others have related that they have also. I shoot a 20 cal a LOT on mine and there are no tables for that. I use the closest approximation to get me within 100 fps. If you pick up the dongle, you can fill in the missing info to your satisfaction. I certainly understand that you shouldn't have to but it's where it is right now.
With my 177 HP, it will go from 12 ft lb to about 40 with current pellet offerings. As you noted, there are only 2 in the table... I could fill it in but prefer to shoot Advanced Mode instead...
Just my experience here...
Bob

Thx for the info Bob.
Regarding the bluetooth - it shouldnt be that hard - I hope they will add it. Its doesnt look like a complex system...It looks like a outdated system with the tabels in the software and the way you add values. The dongle (usb to com to usb-c) is also old school connecting to a board.
Ill buy the cable and try to program factory sets. For the casual airgunner its too complex to do that and its also dissapointing there is only 2 pellets pre programmed.
Is there a guide to program factory sets? How to find the values to be inserted in the table?
My plan is to make all factory sets at 150bar, so it will shoot pellets from 8.44g-16g and slugs 10g-16g at 150bar. I know Soren Drost is doing that.

Regarding advanced mode. I will try that but I see my regulator pressure is falling around 10bar when reservoir goes from 240b to 180bar. That will give bad fps spread since the advanced mode is a fixed hammer set 🙄

Drop reg pressure and try that. If it’s giving you 1050 out the gate the reg is too high for that pellet. I believe there is a path to what you want to achieve with a little experimentation. I do agree you would think more factory presets would be in there.
