N/A Seneca dragonfly MK2

I'd plan on spending around $300 for a rocker safety Sheridan or a Benjamin 342/392. The Sheridans might cost a bit more than that and the Benjamins a bit less. There are generally several available on ebay at any given time.

I've been kind of obsessed with multi pumps for the past year or two and have tried several. Those are the two I would recommend. Unfortunately there are no new high quality multi-pump pneumatics that are currently available in the US. The Webley Rebel is a rebadged Sharp and Sharps have an excellent reputation, but they are few and far between here in the US.

I have several pcps but love multi pump rifles for the power level versatility. Bought a Webley Rebel from Pyramyd air several years ago and absolutely loved it. It malfunctioned so I sent it back and got a new one. It had same malfunction and when I sent it back they would only refund my money. Got a Benjamin and didn’t care for it. Should have just fixed it myself but hindsight is 2020.

Benjamin quality declined some time after Crosman bought them out. For a few years they continued to build good guns though. Anything with a wood stock or pre-2000 is probably still decent. The biggest problems with those old guns is that there aren't any optics mounting options that are really good. Baker Airguns mount is the best I've seen. It would also be nice if they had a threaded barrel, but that wasn't something that was on their radar back then.

Mine was quality made but didn’t have near the accuracy as the Rebel and the absence of optics mount. I didn’t have a chronograph back then to know for certain, but the Rebel seemed more powerful too. I have found a gun called stinger marte that may be a prospect. Doing research on availability now.

Two places that I check regularly are Craigslist and AOA's used section. Craigslist is where you're likely to find some real bargains if you're patient. AOA seems to sell their vintage American guns at pretty reasonable prices and I think they often ship them off to Baker Airguns to have them resealed just based on the number of guns I see for sale there advertised as being newly rebuilt by BA. If you really want a particular airgun and you don't mind paying a higher price for what might be a more questionable item, then eBay's the place. The selection there is better than anywhere else I'm aware of.

I've purchased a couple items off the classifieds here as well and had good luck.

Would like to hear your opinion of Seneca dragonfly if you own one.
I've only owned one for about a month and so far I've been very disappointed by it. The linkage mechanism is supposed to make it easier to pump, but I found that it was only easier to compress with significant resistance when opening the pump. I later determined that this was due to bad manufacturing, but that was after I decided to open it up and void the warranty.

Visually, it's an attractive gun, with a nicely shaped wood stock and mostly steel construction with decent bluing. The sights are nice, it has an 11mm rail built into the receiver, a threaded muzzle and it comes with both a single shot tray and a magazine, so based on just that, it ought to be by far the best multipump rifle out there.

What I found however was that it was somewhat difficult to pump, did not make a lot of power per stroke and produced very erratic velocities. At one point I lubed it heavily to see if that would cause the velocities to level out and then it stopped building pressure, so I tore it apart. What I found inside was that the piston and cylinder mechanism were not properly finished and that the piston was squeezed in the slotted part of the cylinder tube to the point that I had to drive it out using a hammer to get it past the constriction in the pump tube. I've since sanded off a few thousandths of an inch from the rear section of the piston and smoothed the rough edges on the slot of the cylinder and now it is pumping much more easily, but it's still failing to build pressure, so I'm going to have to tear apart the valve and see what's wrong in there.

At this point I really couldn't recommend one, although they obviously have a lot of potential.
