2025 Meeker indoor BR matches, Marion, OH

Meeker Sportsman Club will once again be hosting indoor bench rest matches January - March, 2025. It’s nothing fancy or sanctioned, but just some fun tigger time during the boring, drab, cold winter months. We shoot 4 NRA 50’ A-36 targets off of Caldwell portable shooting benches. No they are not concrete stable but everyone shoots from similar benches. It’s open to any .22LR rimfire or .177 -.22 air rifle. Cost is $10. We shoot the 1st and 3rd Sundays in January - March. Doors open and sign in is at 2, match starts at 2:30 and we are usually done by 4:30. Space is limited to a maximum of 18 shooters and ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS MANDATORY. Thank you to all who came out and shot with us today in our first fun match of 2025. We had a great time and a full house. Congratulations to 8 year old Cooper Collins for posting the high score in the 22 Rimfire class edging out Ray Davis in a tie breaker for the win. Another congratulations to first time pellet class shooter Mark Clemons for putting a whoopin' on the competition. Its all in good fun.

Thank you to Missy Richards who scored most of our targets, Rick Rizor and Joe Haubert for RSO duties and running a safe match. Also thanks to Paul Haubert and others for helping set up and tear down the range benches.

As a reminder, we have more shooters than benches available so I am only accepting sign ups starting on the Monday before each match, on a first come first serve basis. Since I have a waiting list of shooters and If you sign up and cancel at the last minute then you are responsible for paying the club $10 for not showing up and preventing another shooter the opportunity of shooting in your absence.

Next match is 1/19.

Thx for the reply, hopefully I can find my old Benji Pumper and make the 6 hr round trip to play with the Big Dogs🤔Now if I can just find that dang yellow box of .20 cal pellets?? 😂

You have to get your bench reservation in early. I start taking requests on the Monday before each match. It’s first come first served by the time stamp on emails and txts. We were filled up by 9:30am Monday. I wish we had more room to accommodate all the requests because I hate turning away people who want to shoot with us.

Today we held our 3rd of 7 indoor benchrest matches of our indoor season. We had a full house with air-gunners outnumbering the powder burner guys! We had a full house and a good time was had by all, except for Fritz who had some equipment malfunctions on his first relay. Luckily we were able to pitch in and help get him going for his second relay so all was not lost. Below are the scores and I hope to post a few pictures later this evening.

Mark Clemons won the pellet class ... AGAIN ... but narrowly on a tie breaker. Watch your six Mark, we have you in our sights ;)

Seven year old Cooper outshot the rest of the Rimfire field again! This kid can flat out shoot!

Wow, only 33 points difference from First Place to Last. That is some close shooting from your group. Looking forward to the pictures.
