I’ve been trying to get my .22 Vixen to shoot CPHPs accurately but my efforts have been futile. I tried lubing them with several different lubes, sorting them by weight and head size, resizing them, shooting them straight from the tin and washed and bone dry and zilch, no luck at all. They would constantly throw fliers in all directions. That was until I decided to try another tin today. I was previously shooting the blue and gold tins but found a red, white and blue tin that had USA Built on the lid and Shazam these shoot marvelously. Upon closer inspection the USA tin pellets don’t have a pronounced seam, like the blue /gold tin pellets do. Has anyone else noticed this?
I wonder if the tin, on the left, pictured below is not made in the US? Does anyone know?
The top two rows are 5 shot groups. The second row, 1st bull, low shot was me. The top rows were shot indoors at 10M. The group on row 7 was 11 shots at 50 feet. The high shot was me using the wrong hold over hash mark.
