INTRODUCING THE FX DRS TACTICAL

To me, this new DRS Tactical is a 'novelty' rifle, not to be taken seriously for any particular shooting discipline. If it was semi-auto fire function that would change everything about this new rifle.

My favorite coyote hunting firearm is an AR that I built specific for the task. The primary advantage of an AR platform stems from the fact that fast follow-up shots are available. An AR platform rifle that is bolt/lever action is just a different form of a 'standard' rifle. Personally, for a woods hunting rifle I find the standard DRS Classic more desirable.

I really don't understand this argument. In most competitions...things are not left 'stock'. In motocross... factory riders usually have better equipment than the guys without sponsors.
Why would FX get criticized for this? Other manufacturers could do the same thing. Why is FX the bad guy for trying harder?
I bring this up simply for the fact that a large percentage of buyers may Not know the difference between what is a "competition" version versus a Stock
If the average buyer see's statements made like the one FX, in this case puts out there is an implied level or expectancy out of a Stock, Production gun that is just not there.

I did NOT criticize FX in my post, I am simply pointing out a fact that is omitted.

Yes, there are a few others guilty of this deceptive, or let's be a little more PC and say creative in their sales pitch choices, but there are also a select few manufacturers that show up at the competitions with a gun that is available off the shelf and competitive....

And due to physical limitations, 90% of classic wood/synthetic stocks will not work for me.

I got tossed into the tactical arena and fell in love with the perfect ergonomics of the platform.

The spec sheet specifically says this rifle is geared towards pellets with the slightly smaller plenum and changes to air flow and such from a standard DRS.
At first I didn't read the ad, thought it wouldn't include anything useful other than "game changer, revolutionary..." Stuff, I think it has three benefits, price, weight and looks which can be a proper trouble maker in my country though, however it lacks in the shot count and will only shoot slugs out of the 700mm version which defeats the whole "looks" thingy, it looks good in 500 and maybe 600mm versions.

I’m curious how FX is getting 2.5x shot count over the DRS Classic? I only compared the .22, 500mm versions. UA told me I would get 30 shots with the DRS Classic and now it seems the Tactical version is getting 78 shots. Did FX change the valving again or does the tac version have double the air capacity?

Just a DRS with a different dress on. Calm down…lol hardly innovative
This guy is a cancer to the forum. Clearly he doesn't understand the definition of innovation.

I understand that Matt works for FX but it's hard to argue that 21 shots at 50 ft-lb out of a 500 mm barrel with only a 210 cc air tube isn't awesome!
and its able to shoot 26 grain slugs easier than the Impact MK1. Nah there's no innovation going on here

I'm not a huge fan of the tactical black rifle look a like but FX's innovation is undeniable.

Being a firearm guy all of my life, I hate the bulbous bottle on the average air rifle !
The shot count of my DRS Pro 25 700 is on par with my 22LR or my 204 Ruger 10 to 15 shots. No big deal load a magazine top up the air.
The DRS is a solid, simple light weight design !
Now this tactical version might be pushing simple to the Max, but it definitely looks like a solid rifle.

I can possibly see a DRS Tactical 25 500 making it's way to my house.

I think some are blowing this way out of proportion on it looking like a real AR15. There are only so many ways you can add a picatinny railed/MLOK forend, an AR15 adaptable stock, and AR15 pistol grip without it looking like an AR15. Hell, even some PB bolt actions look like AR15s to me. One of the main reasons people are gravitated toward AR15 compatible furniture is options. There are so many aftermarket accessories for them. In regards to the plenum looking like a PB magazine, where else will they put it and what would it look like? Would it be a cylindrical tube? Could they have incorporated it into the stock without it being affected if someone decided to use a folding adapter? I'm pretty sure they could have made it part of the barrel along with the air reservoir but it would have extended the overall length of the barrel even more. Just me thinking out loud.

Regulated non adjustable power settings, I think CF tube is optional purchase and it comes stock with alu tube 230bar, I dont know whats the price to switch it CF.. no info about plenum but does it matter if its fixed to one power setting idk, .22 15.8gr around 880fps. I think thats it.
Power settings are adjustable, just not externally adjustable. You have to remove the stock and such. Watch the videos that are coming out. And by watching those videos, most all of them are shooting 18gr at that speed from the factory.
