I am looking for something that will make it easy. I am using weed eater string and patches but it is a pain to work with.
That sounds good but how do you get the string through the barrel?Easy off and sandpaper.
Ok, I use a string with a loop and cotton patches. For cleaner, I just use silicon lube. It's never been very dirty.
It is from a snapped Bore Snake, so it still has the little brass weight attached. I have an Otis bore snake type, but haven't used it yet. That sounds good but how do you get the string through the barrel?
Agreed, with Ballistol and center-pierced 2" circular cotton patches. Use next smallest size insert than suggested by PatchWorm. Large size plastic straw helps get thru moderator, internal shroud baffle stacks often require smaller diameter straw. WMI use the patchworm kit. Works for me.
Pellet shooting spoiled me, didn't clean either, other than initial. Slug shooting scared me straight, regular cleaning required. Pellet accuracy eventually fell off, quick cleaning restored. WMI haven't cleaned mine since new accuracy hasn't fell off yet so I don't touch it
Yeah I shoot mainly pellets just started shooting slugsPellet shooting spoiled me, didn't clean either, other than initial. Slug shooting scared me straight, regular cleaning required. Pellet accuracy eventually fell off, quick cleaning restored. WM
Don't mess around, first sign of slug accuracy slipping, clean barrel. Fiddling with tune and scope is an effort in futility, might be needed but make sure to clean barrel first. WMYeah I shoot mainly pellets just started shooting slugs
That looks great! Do you reuse them? Is that tip replaceable? You won't find anything easier, use your favorite solvent lightly, simply use a paper towel to wipe/squeeze foam tip clean. Place rifle scope down, whip is stiff enough to get passed silencer if needed, can also work back and forth instead of single pass.View attachment 541071View attachment 541073

The foam tip has lasted for 20 barrels so far. Even if it gets a little tore up it still cleans. That looks great! Do you reuse them? Is that tip replaceable?
