BUT in the end if both parties are good with the deal it really doesn't matter what the item was worth or is worth or what it cost originally .

Now you're keeping it. You crack me up, RonI put the original 177 barrel and spring in it and it was a little low on power and big on twang so wound up tinkering with it and left over kit parts. When I was done making over 20fpe and surprisingly accurate. Its now settled down to 19 fpe and reasonably accurate. Just before dark I shot this target with three different versions of JSB 8.44s. The AA were the best. I guess I'll keep this thing.
This was at 25 yards. All but one group isn't anything special at 25 yards until you consider they're going 1000fps.

I struggled with this thing to make that power with several caliber barrels, kits, springs, seals and even a new comp tube. It was like the gun was jinxed. I slam it all together with bits and pieces and it does this. Go figure? Now you're keeping it. You crack me up, Ron
That thing's a hammer
I totally agree. Yet there are collectors that want everything original like a "time capsule". I'm somewhere in the middle. I don't like molested stuff but well maintained is fine.IMO, things like springs, O-rings and piston seals are wear items. After a certain age and/or number of shots they're meant to be replaced and a 20 year old rifle with the original spring and piston seal is like a 20 year old truck with the original belts and hoses.
I get that if the gun is almost entirely a collectors item. Who wants a Sheridan Supergrade with a picatinny rail after all, even though optics would make it an objectively better shooting rifle. 90+% of airguns have little or no collector value however and original style parts that keep them shooting like a new and tuned gun are what I’d prefer to have.I totally agree. Be well
You are a who, one that does good work and who is willing to help others. So I’ll nickname you Mr. Who. You are a good man RonThis is what I'm up against. It would be my work but I'm a "Who?" to most everyone.
