Classified section

It's kan't be THAT difficult.
Why do people that are putting up photos in the classified section post them...upside down ?
Yeah, I know..."that's the way that my phone does it".

Learn how to "fix" the problem. For us prospective buyers, turning the computer screen upside down...is a pain in the butt !

My biggest gripe with the classifieds is posting pictures of fully loaded guns when they’re only selling the gun by itself.

A bipod I can understand if you want to take pictures of it stood up. But to take off a scope that you don't plan on selling is a matter of removing 4 screws, it seems lazy not to remove.

There’s one gun currently listed with “lots of extras,”. It’s pictured with loads of extras, but when you actually read through the post you find out that 80% of the “extras” aren’t even being offered.

I think one of the Classified rules should be only post a picture of something if it is included in your sale.

Maybe they are from Australia and only recently here in the US.

Nope, I disagree. Some of us still use these rifles. I'm not going to disassemble the gun that I have functionally working just to take a picture to then reset everything up just because i am not including everything in the picture. Also, it gives the person a visual of what the gun looks like we've set scope on it, it gives you a better perspective as to whether or not the gun may fit you or not. People like the looks of their gun just as much as the functionality.

The first part of your argument puzzles me, if you are still using the rifle why would you list it to sell? This baffles me, do you want to keep the listed rifle or not.

The second part does make sense. I never looked at having the “setup” in place in the pictures as a way to show scale with a particular scope, bipod, etc. Now I am feeling marginally guilty about my annoyance over the statement “scope and rings not included”

Just because I want to sell it does not mean I don't want to to use it. I, myself have a rotation of guns, and I use them until I don't. Most times, the guns are with me while I am working, they still function perfectly, I just don't want them anymore, so I take a picture of it while in use.

We're at a point in history where taking pictures/videos has never been easier!

Part of the problem is old guys (like me) have been conditioned in our early lives to view photography as difficult and costly.
  • Film was expensive
  • Cameras were either really simple (no adjustability) or very complicated and expensive (scaring people away)
  • Film had to be taken in to be developed (or set up a lab in your basement) Plus cost for developing $$$
  • Then you had to put the pictures somewhere - albums, etc
All that hassle is GONE now.
  • 'Film' is now free (everyone has a phone with a high quality camera built-in)
  • Cameras (your phone) are super easy to operate
  • Developing? ha! Everything is instant
  • All the pics/vids fit right on your phone and are easily shared
In the old days practicing was expensive so hardly anyone did it.
Today you can practice as much as you want for free. So grab your phone and do it 😎

Agreed. Honestly your picture of the Vulcan 3 with the Arken SH4 was a big part of the reason I bought it from you. It was a quality photo to begin with and even though I wasn’t really considering that particular scope, it looked great on the gun. I was browsing for something new and a Vulcan 3 wasn’t really on the radar. Saw your gun all set up, it caught my eye, and it made me wonder why I’d not paid attention to that particular model previously. That started me down the Vulcan research path and I contacted you afterwards. Pretty much any gun intended to be used with an optic, just looks more ”right” with an optic mounted, and it seems like you’d want the gun looking as right as possible if you’re trying to sell it. I get that not everyone feels this way, but I appreciate an ad with at least one glamour shot in it along with all of the other pertinent info one should consider when buying pre-owned. The more boxes ticked, the more likely I am to show that appreciation by throwing my dollars at it.

I guess that pretty much makes MikeVV’s point too.

True! The same goes for computers! Anyone can make a mistake, so if you see an upside down photo, even with your computer, you can snapcut whatever is on your screen and manipulate it however you want.

<--- Computer nerd. I use an iPad Pro most of the time. Great platform and I am a fan of Apple's "Walled Garden". Apple built in a simple photo editing tool that lets you fix or customize your images. I use it all the time.

So what about Microsoft Windows? I asked Google - "Microsoft offers several photo editing tools, including the Microsoft Photos app, Microsoft Designer, and Clipchamp."

Here is a decent video that explains the Microsoft Photos App. Looks very similar to Apple's photo editor with crop, flip and rotate easily available to the user.

If you have issues, DM me and I can try and assist.
