Most realize high-speed-fan-only cooled, oil-less, waterless, multipower, high speed rectangular box compressors only last 12-18 months, with careful use. Rebuild parts are unavailable and even if found, rebuild rarely lasts. WM

I think it depends on how and how often you use them. It was last longer if you never turn in on!

These aren't GX-CS Series pumps, the low gearing of the GX series was a big step forward in combating destructive heat. These compressors came out before and were very popular until consumers realized it was designed as a, "throw-away, buy another," platform. WM

I did not dare to go with box compressor, i simply shoot too much in a day, well during summer at least, so topping up a 12 or 9 L bottle will be a too tough job when it is down 8 hours of shooting.
But very happy with my 9L acecare CF tank, sort of wishing i was able to pick up a 12 L one too.
And hoping dearly that my 4 Cylinder China made compressor will last a long time, CUZ while cheaper than the Coltri compressor it is a copy of, it was still anything but cheap.

Just referring to small gun fill compressors in general. I 100% believe people are buying them like crazy.

Agreed, GX-CS pumps are going gangbusters. These non GX-CS pumps are losing popularity as OP stated in thread introduction. WM
