First Time with Slugs

I bought a variety of 22cal slugs a couple of weeks ago for the fun of seeing how well they perform out of my 23 year old AAS410. I hoped for some 1 hole groups. Though they performed decently at 25 yards, the 16gr JSB’s still beat them. The weights of the slugs ranged from 20gr to 23gr as I don’t think a 30ft/lb gun can launch heavier pellets fast enough to make shooting out to 50yds feasible.

For a gun with 30fpe I would suggest trying the griffin 17gr ldc slugs. They are expensive, but they shoot well, expand a lot and you can shoot them at the same ish speed as 18gr pellets.

Be warned!!! Once you go with slugs there is no going back. They are an absolute blast and will destroy practically anything you put in front of it!
Yes it’s very addictive lol I fell down the rabbit hole a few years ago and switched back to pellets because most of my shots were under 50yds but got a new rifle and I’m addicted to slugs again lol
